Meet David Becker

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful David Becker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi David, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I developed a strong work ethic from my father and first music teacher who instilled that if you want to achieve something, you have to be prepared but also have to be reliable. Success comes from opportunity meets preparedness. I have also learned from many of my mentors about the strength of having a strong work ethic and it has served me well over the years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have been an international touring and recording artist for 40 years. I just released my 20th recording, GRAVITATIONALLY BOUND: https://immersiveaudioalbum.com/product/gravitationally-bound-david-becker-5-1-flac-atmos-mkv-mp4/

The album was recorded in Immersive sound with my friend and Grammy winning Producer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell). I am also in the middle of a concert tour with my project PLANETS:

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

My determination, and willingness to try something and most of all my tenacity! The most important thing is to get a very clear picture in your mind as to what exactly you wish to achieve. Then you must imagine everyday what that looks and feels like. As you move toward your goal, the goal itself will get further away, but that is a good thing. Complete all the projects that you begin. That is where the success can be found.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents exposed me to travel and the Arts at a very young age. By the time I was 10 years old I had traveled internationally
10 times. This was extremely important to my personal development. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that they allowed me to experience.
