Meet David Fuselier

We were lucky to catch up with David Fuselier recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have David with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
It is a combination of from my time playing sports & also my time working different jobs. I am a very competitive person on top of there also being a particular group of people who tells me that I’m not supposed to be a music producer, rap artist or podcaster. I love what I do but my goal is always to prove them wrong in any way that I can.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My brand is known as Major Music Ent and most people that follow my work know me as Dee Dot the music producer/artist/podcaster . I am always multitasking between different projects like creating instrumentals that I upload to my website for artists to license for their own personal albums & I usually do a new episode of my podcast The Major Music Lounge every week where I interview other music producers & artists about their journey creating music. The Major Music Lounge can be found on YouTube and all podcast platforms. In between all of this I find time to write new songs and record for some upcoming releases that I have later this year. What I find most exciting about the work that I do is simply the fans of my work also drive me, I never realized how much that I inspire other creators whether that is watching my content on YouTube, listening to my podcast or just how some younger followers are amazed that I’ve been creating as long as I have.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three skills or areas of knowledge that I were impactful is 1.) invest in your craft not just monetary but also learning new skills that can help you grow as a creator ie if you are a music creator learn how to edit videos and create youtube content. 2.) Go to networking events and meet and build relationships in your communities with other creators. You never know how that relationship can turn into other opportunities later on. 3) As a music creator also learn about music publishing & performance rights organizations. There are way more opportunities in the music industry than just streaming platforms. Music is on the shows and movies we watch, in video games , at sporting events and more.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
This is a great question that I get asked all the time. I never mind collaborating with other music creators but I have one thing that is pretty much written in stone when it comes to how I work. Music creators that are active online and have a presence we have to have a similar work ethic. I’ve released projects, created content & got music placements before and when we create I want to work with someone who is striving for the same than just to create a beat or some music that will sit on a computer. What is the end game?
