Meet David Hussain

We recently connected with David Hussain and have shared our conversation below.

David, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
From an early age, I learned from observing people’s behavior. I am the youngest in my family so with that came the desire to be more like the role models in my life and even moreso, be curious about every aspect of their decision making and actions.

When I enter a room or meet someone for the first time, my goal is to learn as much about who they are and what makes them tick. It comes from my natural curiosity.

Making people feel heard and seen is something I don’t see happen often these days, so having that impact can go a long way and it has led me to make some of the most impactful and meaningful relationships I have built in my life.

My success has come from staying true to my self and being genuinely curious about people.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m David Hussain, son, brother, friend, foodie and real estate nerd. I work at Finest City Team under my brand, ListedbyDavid. I help people grow their wealth through investing in real estate, save on taxes through real estate, and teach my clients what I believe we should have been taught in school.

For the past 7 years, I have been in the real estate industry with the primary goal of understanding my client’s unique circumstances and presenting them with their options. I then do everything I can to be their conduit to achieve their goals and protect them every step of the way.

My business partner, Andrew Greer and I started a real estate team with one goal in mind, give realtors the tools and environment they need to operate at a level of expertise beyond their peers. We strive to help them create a sustainable business where they can grow from Realtor to Real Estate PRO. Our ultimate goal is to help everyone we work with become investors in real estate.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Putting the client first. Above all else. Always. 2. Understanding the real estate transaction, the contracts, and the risks so that I can be the best advocate for my clients. 3. Being undeniable. Not taking shortcuts. Having integrity and ethics and building a business based on these tenets.

Focus on helping others and make that your priority. Find your passion and build a business around that. Stay true to yourself, work hard, and success will follow.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Exercise. It is the best thing to get you out of the moment and out of the stress. It will help you be mindful in the moment. Your body and your mind will thank you.
