We recently connected with David Martin and have shared our conversation below.
Hi David, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose once I put GOD first in my life. GOD started to show me, why he created in me. I started serving in my local church just driving the church van, cleaning up the church and would help any kind of way the church needed. Then after a couple of years, I started teaching in the church. That all started in 2012 but if we fast forward to now, I see how it all came together. I was born to serve people. That’s where all my joy came from. The joy is unexplainable that comes to me when I can help someone. Most of the time I’m helping people by just giving them an encouraging word. Now I’m writing books and speaking to different groups of people. I know this is what created me for.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a licensed minister, an author, and a public speaker with a deep passion for encouraging and inspiring others. I also create and facilitate curriculum designed to uplift and transform lives. Beyond my professional roles, I’m also a dedicated husband and father to three wonderful children.
What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life and share messages of hope and a “NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE”.
I love to encourage people and help them realize their potential, no matter their circumstances. Having overcome a decade-long struggle with drug addiction, I bring a unique perspective to my ministry and speaking engagements. My personal journey of recovery and transformation fuels my passion to help others find their path to healing and success.
In terms of new developments, I’m expanding my outreach programs to include more community events and workshops, aimed at providing support and resources to those in need.
I invite everyone to join me in these endeavors, whether by attending an event, reading my books, or simply following along on this journey of faith, hope, and encouragement. Thank you for your support and for being a part of this mission to make a positive impact in the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, the three most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge were:
1. Trusting God: This quality provided a solid foundation and a sense of purpose, guiding decisions and offering strength during challenging times.
2. Trusting the Process:Understanding that growth and success take time helped maintain patience and perseverance, enabling me to stay committed to long-term goals.
3. **Listening to the People that God Placed in My Life:** This allowed me to benefit from the wisdom, experience, and support of mentors and trusted individuals, helping to navigate life’s complexities effectively.
### Advice for Those Early in Their Journey:
1. **Surround Yourself with Role Models:** Find and build relationships with individuals who are doing what you aspire to do. Their experiences and insights can provide valuable guidance and inspiration.
2. **Stay Patient and Trust the Journey:** Recognize that progress often takes time and that setbacks are part of the process. Keep faith in your path and remain committed to your goals.
3. **Seek and Value Mentorship:** Actively listen to and learn from those who offer guidance and support. Their perspectives can help you avoid pitfalls and make more informed decisions.
By focusing on these principles, you can build a strong foundation for your personal and professional growth.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
That’s when I go to my support system. It’s very important to have people in your life that can be a listening hear. I have an awesome wife, Pastor, mentors that I talk to
