Davis , thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?

I began my career in property management, working on four luxury high-rise projects where I met people relocating from all around the world. That experience sparked my passion for helping others find not just a home, but a lifestyle that fits them. Today, as a co-founder of Locate Now, I get to do that every day in the city I love most — Atlanta, the place I proudly call home.

I believe the most important aspect of effective communication is having valuable information to share. I’ve had the opportunity to build an extensive knowledge of the Atlanta rental market and leasing process, and I’m proud to use that expertise to guide my clients in finding their perfect home

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As a Managing Partner of Locate Now, I help run a free service that connects people moving to or within Atlanta with licensed real estate agents, called apartment locators. We make the process of finding your perfect home seamless, stress-free, and even enjoyable.
What makes Locate Now special is that our team is always up-to-date on the latest leasing specials, brand-new luxury developments, and the unique character of Atlanta’s many neighborhoods. Best of all, our clients never pay a dime — we’re compensated by the property you choose, and as a welcome to your new home, you even receive a $100 gift card when your locator is paid. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

At Locate Now, we hold a people-first mindset. We understand that finding a new home is one of life’s biggest decisions, and we genuinely care about helping people feel at home in the city we love.

To uphold this mindset, our locators prioritize communication. Their job is to fully understand each person’s needs, building lasting relationships so clients can turn to us again down the road whenever they decide to move or are ready to purchase property.

The final, equally important quality is our knowledge of Atlanta. We know the city’s unique neighborhoods and what makes each one special, allowing us to match people with a home and lifestyle that truly fits them.

While these qualities and skills are essential to providing our service, the most important thing for anyone early in their professional journey is to know which attributes to develop. Once you understand the most essential aspects of your service, it becomes much easier to create a plan that expands your expertise in those areas.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

Our ideal client is someone moving to or within Atlanta who wants to save time, energy, and money. We handle the details — from booking tours to coordinating with property management — so clients can focus on settling in. For out-of-town movers, we offer virtual tours via FaceTime or video, and clients even receive a $100 gift card from their locator as a move-in bonus.
