We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Da’Von Wildy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Da’Von , great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risk by remembering my struggle in the past and what my end goal is. I know that I would not like to revisit my struggle so I try to put myself out there as much as possible in order to reach my goals and become financially stable in the end.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hello I am a model, business owner and a photographer. I feel like the most exciting thing about all three professions is that I get to be creative and meet new people. One thing I would like folks to know about my overall brand is that I take each profession very seriously. Also, with my clothing brand Von Flex Apparel I have many different fashions coming up in the future, and with photography I have many deals that will be affordable for everyone.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey was being consistent, having an education, and was being open minded to different things. The advice I have for people early in their journey is to always be consistent and persistent in whatever goals you have set for yourself.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed with anything or anyone I turn off my phone and take a step back from reality until I’m ready to handle what’s needs to be handled at the time.
