We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dawid Trawczynski. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dawid below.
Dawid, thank you so much for making time for us today. We’re excited to discuss a handful of topics with you, but perhaps the most important one is around decision making. The ability to make decisions is a key requirement for anyone who wants to make a difference and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your decision-making skills.
I developed my decision-making skills through formal education and various life experiences by living both in the USA and Europe. Coming to United States at an early age of 14, and being one only in my household with “good-enough” English, I needed to help out on many family and adult matters early in my life due to my parent’s limited ability to communicate in the language. This taught me early the importance of good communication, and taking responsibility for outcomes of my decisions. Later, in my engineering studies and career, I learned more structured methods based on logical and scientific thinking to help with the decision making process.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Professionally, I am actively working as an architect designing more reliable computer chips for the next generation of computing platforms including Artificial Intelligence, Automotive and High-Performance Computing.
I am still focused on supporting Orlando Polish Center in its’ goal to make Polish language and culture more accessible to community in Central Florida. This includes participating in the organization of various events such as “Mikolajki” or “Majowka”.
In my off-time, I enjoy sailing on Lake Monore in Sanford and attending my dauther’s school and club volleball tournaments.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Leadership
2. Compassion
3. Resilience
My advice is to focus on some specific domain (try to be best expert you can in this) and then engage and listen to people that challenge your thinking. After this, show-up (be-present), deliver on a solution to a problem important to society or some part of it and most of all – have fun doing it! And while doing it be kind (to yourself and others).

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My faith, family, professors, co-workers, friends and many, many people from different areas of my personal and professional journey. It indeed takes a village …
