Meet Day Mori

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Day Mori. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Day with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
From being surrounded by the incredible women in entertainment who taught me to always persevere. No matter what limiting beliefs people try to hold over you.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Day Mori, and I love the art of Magic. I’ve been working in the art professionally for the past 13 years. I regularly headline at the magic castle in Hollywood, have a residency at the Formosa Cafe in West Hollywood, and travel performing magic on stages all over the US, and soon… the world.

Consider taking a look at my website www.daymori.com to see some of the shows I’ve recently done and consider booking me. I would be delighted to share my magic with your guests at your event.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d like to start with the most important to me, vulnerability. As a performer you have to not only be ok with but celebrate being vulnerable with your audience. It’s good to express raw emotions and feelings in your show. Otherwise it’s boring.

Respect,

Respect is so so so so SO IMPORTANT. Everyone everywhere MATTERS. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten huge opportunities from the most unexpected people. Be kind to everyone. Never EVER treat people differently based on their status. Everyone has a voice, mission, and purpose in this world.

Patience,
It takes 10 years to be an overnight success. Keep working every second of every day. Learn to restrain your own pen and tongue when people May irritate you. Your words have power. Stay patient and keep working, then everything will fall into place.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Honestly just practicing being in the moment. It feels like so much is going on at once. Im focused right now on having one foot in front of the other and breathing. I’m really lucky in that I have wonderful friends who are my chosen family and show up to support me when I need it. Im actually winning an award from the magic castle this year and I’m really excited to go with my cousin Paula.
