Meet Dayjana Watson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dayjana Watson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dayjana , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Finding my purpose wasn’t an easy task but it was a journey and one i indeed enjoyed. Growing up and blooming into the young woman I’am now becoming and hearing what i should be doing and what i shouldn’t left me confused on what i was really supposed to do. When you have doubts coming from the outside world just awakens the drive and determination to show individuals what you was really made for and what god has in-store for you. Although, it was trial and error and lost of faith through the process of finding my purpose i never gave up or lost sight of what god had in store for me and what true purpose i have here. So, keeping the faith and a good support system that encourage and pours into you is what help me find my purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi, my name is Dayjana and I’m an influencer/ makeup artist but also a college student that’s pursuing a major in humanities & social sciences with a concentration in psychology. I plan on doing a lot when i receive my degree like starting my own nonprofit to help kids who are struggling with mental health and don’t have the community or family support. Also, becoming a mental health therapist for kids and being able to be an advocate and positive outlet for mental health and wellness. Being the overachiever I’am and having the mindset i have i don’t plan on stopping at my degree. That’s why being an influencer & makeup artist and one day owing my own cosmetics business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three important qualities or skill that was most impactful were being consistent, faith, & drive. Always be mindful that some days, you’re not going to lack in one of those categories but never give up or lose sight in your purpose and that everyone journey is different. Another thing to keep in mind when starting any business or finding your purpose or just any in general that your journey isn’t going to look like the next person’s and never base your progress off the next’s because trust me everyone struggles and your won’t see it most the time.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
To answer this question it wouldn’t be a “who” but a “they” because my family definitely played a huge part in my success & pushing me to be the best version of myself. When i first started doing makeup i was scared about turning it into a business and accepting clients because i had doubts in myself and my potential. But, one thing that always kept me going and reminded me was my family and them telling me how good i was and i needed to stop playing with my potential and show the world my talents. My family knew before i did about who i was and what had to bring to this world and that’s what anything I ever did.
