Meet Dazia Rice

We were lucky to catch up with Dazia Rice recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dazia, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
The first time I ever took a risk was back in 2018 when I spent my entire paycheck to go to Real Estate School. Most people would’ve been worried but I was happy because for once I stepped out on faith to invest in myself. Taking risks is almost like playing cards. You’re not gonna know what cards you’ll be dealt, but you always have to know when it’s your turn. I’m a very calculated person, so everything has to make sense to me or I’m not doing it. Having a great support system behind me has truly been a game changer and I’m so thankful for that.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m Dazia Rice, CEO and Founder of Rice Consulting Co. Greenville’s Top Consulting Company located in Greenville, SC. We specialize in moving small and medium sized business forward. I saw a need for a company like mine during my start-up stages. I had no idea what I was doing which caused me to spend thousands of dollars and I knew from that moment I was not going to let other people go through the same thing, If I could help it.

The most exciting part about what I do is hearing my clients story. What inspires them and what’s driving them to start their business.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Some advice I’d like to give are if you’re not ready or willing to take risks or make sacrafices you have no business being in business. Your price is your price and support will almost always come from the people you least expect.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I believe taking your time is the best way to beat feeling overwhelmed. Don’t do too much all at one time. Take a break and come back to it.
