We were lucky to catch up with DeAngelo Buggs recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi DeAngelo , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Growing up, I learned to build my confidence and self-esteem the hard way. I was the one people overlooked, the one who gave my best and delivered results, only to be pushed to the side or ignored when it mattered. I came from a place where everyone loved to ask but rarely gave, where taking was easy and pouring back into others was rare. But instead of letting that break me, it shaped me. It taught me to validate myself, to trust my own abilities, and to recognize my own worth even when others couldn’t. Being shunned didn’t weaken me—it sharpened me. It made me stand taller, work smarter, and love myself louder than anyone ever could or expected.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Resilience
I didn’t crumble when I was overlooked—I adapted, pushed through, and kept producing excellence even when it wasn’t acknowledged. That endurance shaped my confidence more than anything else.
2. Self-awareness
I learned to recognize my own worth without waiting for validation. That ability to understand who I am, what I bring, and why I matter is a major reason I grew instead of shrinking.
3. Emotional intelligence
Growing up around people who loved to take but rarely give taught me how to read intentions, protect my energy, and set boundaries. That emotional insight helped me mature faster and navigate relationships with more clarity and strength.
Don’t listens to the crowd, and Never Quit

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I need to collaborate with people who match your drive, respect your value, and elevate my growth. Specifically:
1. People who operate with integrity and honesty.
These are individuals who follow through, communicate clearly, and don’t take advantage of your willingness to give. They respect boundaries, show appreciation, and value fairness in every partnership.
2. People who bring strong skills and a growth mindset.
You need collaborators who aren’t intimidated by excellence—and aren’t afraid to challenge you in healthy ways. They’re ambitious, creative, and committed to leveling up both themselves and the team.
3. People who give as much as they receive.
You’ve already experienced environments where everyone wanted something but offered nothing. Now you need people who pour back into the work, share resources, contribute ideas, and match your energy.
4. People who see your strengths—even when others didn’t.
They recognize your talent, appreciate the quality you bring, and treat you as a partner, not a tool. They uplift, encourage, and help build instead of drain.
5. People who are emotionally mature.
These are collaborators who know how to handle pressure, communicate without ego, and align with your vision without creating chaos.
In short: I need people who are reciprocal, reliable, and rooted in purpose—people who add to your momentum rather than slow it down.
