We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Deanna Wells-Rohm. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Deanna below.
Hi Deanna , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Growing up my parents always preached to me to work hard but to be honest life was pretty easy for me. My siblings and I grew up in a working middle class family and even though we had our challenges my parents provided a decent foundation for me to grow from. It wasn’t until I became a teenage mother, I quickly realized that life was not rainbows and sunshine. When I became pregnant at 18 I was on my way to the army. I had to choose between continuing the pregnancy or not so I could leave for basic training. This is when reality set in that I was not a little girl anymore. I was advised by people close to me to terminate the pregnancy but I decided not to. I remember praying to God to help me and give me strength. Being a young mom was not easy but God honored my prayers and made me resilient.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Deanna Wells-Rohm and I help my clients manage day to day risk through insurance. I’m also the owner of the fastest growing insurance agency in the south metro Atlanta area. The most exciting about my career is that I get to build relationships on a daily basis.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When I started in my career I was a single mother. Having kids depending on me turned me into a hustler and made me courageous. Entrepreneurship is tough and I do believe that you need hustle and courage to survive. Also being kind. So many doors opened for me because of my tenacity, fearlessness, and being kind to people. My advice to anyone starting out would be to be kind to everyone you meet and if you are willing to work hard you will have an competitive advantage.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Proximity is so important when you’re working towards your goals so I’m always ready to build authentic relationships. An idea collaboration would be with someone who is a market place minister. This individual understands that the platform God blessed them with is just a door for a bigger purpose. You can connect with me by emailing me at [email protected] or calling 678.701.7209
