Dee, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from always having to be that strong person that has had more difficult situations than an average person could handle. I have taken every tough situation and came out bigger and better every single time. Tough times don’t last always…is my MOTTO!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been an entrepreneur for the past 3 years and just like any small businesses they have ups and downs but this business is literally my baby and I give it MY ALL. Royal Extensions is a business that constantly and consistently growing, so later this month we decided to introduce our new RAW hair collection!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge for someone starting a hair company is stay consistent on marketing, be very knowledgeable about the hair you’re selling even if you have to wear it (which is what I did to make sure it was the best), and make social media your best friend because that’s where about 60% of the customers come from.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth in the last 12 months have been that I have been more active on social media, email , & texting marketing to grow a bigger audience and gain possibly more customers.
