Meet Dee Terrnigian

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dee Terrnigian a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dee, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?

I’ve learned that hate usually comes with progress. If people are talking, it means I’m doing something worth noticing. I stay focused on my goals and let results do the talking. The best response to negativity is success. If you don’t win they wont respect you. Hate on me all you want but you will respect me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Dee, and I’m based out of Columbus, Ohio. I work as an auto broker specializing in high-end and exotic vehicles, as well as private jet brokering. My focus has always been on creating a smooth, trustworthy process for clients who want something rare, fast, or exclusive and delivering it quickly, anywhere in the country.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for being able to make things happen whether that’s sourcing a hard to find vehicle or closing deals that seem impossible. That consistency has opened doors and put me in rooms with celebrities, athletes, and high level entrepreneurs who value speed, discretion, and service.

I was recently named a 2026 board member of the Midwest Dealer Association, which I’m really proud of. In that role, I’ll be helping launch mentorship programs for dealers and sales professionals who want to level up their careers not just in sales skills, but in mindset and brand building.

What excites me most about what I do is the mix of hustle, relationships, and trust it takes to succeed in this space. Every deal tells a story — and I get to help people achieve something they’ve been dreaming about, whether it’s their first supercar or a private jet for business travel. Right now, my focus is on growing my network nationwide and helping more clients and dealers win at the highest level.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I’d say three qualities that have made the biggest impact on my journey are being a great listener, being organized, and being a strong communicator.

First, being a great listener there’s not enough of that today. People want to feel heard, and in sales or business, truly understanding someone’s needs builds trust faster than any pitch ever could.

Second, organization. I’m extremely organized and that’s a big reason I can handle so many deals at once without things slipping through the cracks. When you’re organized, you create space to move faster and think clearer.

Third, communication. Being able to communicate well not just through words, but through confidence and consistency has opened a lot of doors for me. It’s what gets you in the right rooms and keeps your network growing.

My advice for anyone early in their journey is to develop those same skills intentionally. Listen more than you talk, stay disciplined and organized even when no one’s watching, and work on your communication every day. And if you can, find a mentor someone who’s already done what you’re trying to do. That guidance can save you years of trial and error.”

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that’s had a big impact on me is “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. It’s simple but powerful the whole idea is that your thoughts shape your reality. The way you think determines what you attract, how you act, and ultimately, the results you get.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning to guard my mindset. You can’t think negative and expect to live positive. Everything starts with what you allow yourself to focus on.

Another key lesson was about responsibility understanding that where you are in life is a reflection of your own thoughts and habits. Once you take ownership of that, you can change anything.

That book taught me to stay disciplined mentally. Before I chase new goals or big deals, I make sure my mindset is right first because everything flows from there.”
