We were lucky to catch up with Dee Tha Baddie recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dee , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Developing the confidence and self-esteem that I have now, wasn’t always the same growing up to be honest. It took a lot of not caring about what other people thought of me and just loving myself for who I am and who I was becoming. For many years I always knew that I was different. From the way I walked, talked, acted and etc but once I stopped caring what people would think of me I followed in my truth. I knew that nobody could tell me anything, my confidence and self-esteem was FABULOUS from there!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Dakota but well-known as Dee Tha Baddie. I am a social Influencer and entrepreneur from Detroit Michigan. I have always been in social media for years, but I took social media influencing seriously over the course of about a year and a half almost two years now. Currently, I am one of the managers of the Crowdfreak Baddies and soon to be jumping in to the content creating world and the hair industry. It is always a great time doing something that I love and going into something new that I am going to learn along the process. I definitely have learned a lot in some of the business ventures that I have done and currently in. I am so looking forward to starting my new journey in content creating and finally taking that leap of faith going into the hair industry that I have been wanting to do since I was a teenager.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe that, knowing who I am now and what I have learned that has impacted me on this journey is understanding that everybody doesn’t think like me personally and business wise. Also, just because I want everything to be perfect doesn’t mean that it will always be that way, even in unfortunate circumstances. My advice to those that are early in their journey is to keep being creative and stand your ground no matter how hard it gets, nor no matter what comes out of the situation at hand. Always observe what is happening around you because you’ll always be able to tell when something doesn’t seem right. As I stated before, always stand your ground for what you believe in because the only person that matters in your journey is you. Also, how your journey will be a success story to someone else in the future.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth has been that understanding and take every opportunity rather it is personally or business-wise as a learning lesson so that you won’t make the same mistake with your own business. What I mean by that is when it comes to business and life, everything is a learning lesson, rather it is the people that you encounter with, even opportunities brought to you! Take everything that you learned with a grain of salt and move on to the next big thing that is in your pathway.
