Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deirde Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Deirde , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I have such a creative mind already with endless aesthetics I want to bring to my brand so that’s what keeps my creativity alive. The importance behind the creativity is balance and how to not over stimulate your brain so I like to map out future projects by creating inspiration mood boards and categorize them, so once it’s time to work on a particular project the visual content behind it is already done which makes life easier.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a mother and a wife, a woman full of so much admiration my bucket list is so long and I’m enjoying learning to live in the moment more and by doing that I’ve grown a new self love and because of that I’m more passionate about my brand than ever before. I own a skincare brand named Aura Aesthetics 100% organic cruelty free handmade products June 5, 2023 she will be turning 3 years old and the growth from ingredients to packaging shows on so many levels. From the beginning my goal has always been to heal and bring back one’s confidence that they maybe struggle with because of skin insecurities I was once there and had no one to guide me organically so I feel like it’s a mission I must complete.
I chose to have organic based products because that’s the transition I made in my life so it only made sense to implement that into my brand. I’m all for long-term health and providing my tribe with products that are 100% effective and change their skin life for the better. Prior to launching all products and ingredients are tested on myself and select family and friends and I do that because it’s important I’m giving my customers truth behind the product and what to expect from healing time frame down to the way a particular product will make your skin feel.
Currently Aura Aesthetics is just weeks away from launching its new website with new and upgraded products for spring season and it’s been a journey but I’m so excited and grateful for the time I took to assure I met my expectations. I am a one woman team who makes all products, creates the labels, brand colors and more.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being ok with being the student plays a big part in elevating your business if you’re trying to build longevity, being willing to be open minded and openly receive feedback without offense will always be your best move. I never felt like I knew it all or that I was too good be taught, I value the opinion of those who are on a higher plane field than me they offer so many gems and the lessons they’ve been taught to move forward bring me an abundance of inspiration.
Learning your audience is one of the most famous phrases for entrepreneurs, the moment you master your target audience and learn your community it feels like your business will have endless opportunities. I always say without knowing your target audience then who are you selling to? So those are things to take into consideration but to do so that might mean “stepping out of your comfort zone” and showing others how you and your business can relate to them in a multitude of ways.
The skill to be self taught in all aspects of your business because one thing I’ve learned is that I can only depend and fall back on self when urgency comes aboard. From building my website, to creating marketing content although there are always people out there who master in that field it’s so important to still have that skill under your belt because you never know when you’re going to have to fix someone else’s “mistake”. The more you master the skill of being self taught you’re also saving money and will eventually learn ways to financially invest back into your brand.

I am currently manifesting a collaboration with a brand that’s authentic and offers the same healing energy that my products do, a brand that see’s the art behind the process of elevating and just overall having genuine intentions when it comes to their customers.
