Meet Del McKenzie

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Del McKenzie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Del, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?

With my degree in Engineering, I’ve honed my decision-making skills to a high degree. While not strictly necessary for every situation, this background has given me a strong foundation in analyzing problems and strategically assessing controllable and uncontrollable variables. I approach each situation by carefully weighing the pros and cons and always have a backup plan in place. My goal is to be as prepared as possible by considering all potential outcomes, rather than being caught off guard and unprepared.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello everyone,

I hope all is well! My name is Del, and I’m the Marketer & Event Coordinator for Dreamphotohouse. Dreamphotohouse is a platform in the DMV area that helps models and photographers get paid for their talents. We’re proud of the community we’ve built over the last two years and are excited about our plans to expand to other cities. We’re also gearing up to offer services for fashion shows, including promo videos, fashion show coverage, and media coordination.

Dreamphotohouse is a subsidiary of LEDP Creative Agency, which aims to help businesses increase brand awareness and revenue through video content.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three skills that have been impactful on this journey are:

1. **Consistent Marketing**: Marketing is a continuous process. Keep putting out content to see what resonates with your audience. Archive the content that doesn’t work and build on the content that does. Sometimes, the simplest ideas can be the most effective.

2. **Engaging with People**: Communication is key. Start direct messaging potential clients who fit your ideal profile. Building these connections is crucial.

3. **Balancing Speed and Planning**: Act on your ideas quickly because they might be just what someone needs. While you move fast, also think through your marketing strategy and have a backup plan.

If you’re just starting out, the best advice I can give is to start now. Even if only one person shows up, you’re on the right path.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, we are always looking for creatives to collaborate with! When I first moved to the DMV, I noticed that the creative community was fragmented. My team and I are passionate about bringing together individuals who have dreams and want to work with others making a difference every day.

If you are a photographer, videographer, designer, event coordinator, venue owner, set designer, makeup artist, graphic designer, or any kind of creative, follow us on Instagram @dreamphotohouse. We look forward to connecting with you!
