Meet Demilade Oloyede

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Demilade Oloyede. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Demilade, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

As a first-generation immigrant, moving to the U.S. with big dreams was both exhilarating and terrifying. After completing my degrees in IT management, I found myself facing the challenge of navigating a professional world where I often felt out of place. I started my career working in product management and marketing for large companies, and while I gained valuable experience, the nagging feeling of “not being enough” followed me. There were times when I would walk into meetings and question whether I deserved to be there—despite being just as qualified, if not more, than those around me.

This imposter syndrome didn’t fully hit home until I decided to transition into entrepreneurship. Starting Limpiar, an eco-friendly cleaning services company, was a huge leap. The stakes were higher, and now, I wasn’t just worried about my success but the livelihood of others and the impact my business could have on the industry. That inner critic grew louder: “Can I really do this?” “Am I capable of running a company?” These thoughts became hurdles that I had to overcome.

What helped me overcome this challenge was leaning into community and mentorship. I began to build relationships with other entrepreneurs and leaders who shared their own stories of self-doubt and perseverance. Knowing that I wasn’t alone made all the difference. These conversations reminded me that everyone—no matter how successful—faces moments of doubt. What sets successful people apart is their ability to push through it.

As I started building Limpiar, I realized that my purpose was bigger than myself. It wasn’t just about overcoming my personal fears but about creating solutions to problems I had experienced firsthand. Having struggled with finding non-toxic, allergy-safe cleaning products and services, I saw an opportunity to create something better for others facing the same challenges. That’s when I truly found my purpose: to redefine the cleaning industry with sustainable solutions that promote health and wellness.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the CEO and Founder of Limpiar, an innovative cleaning company that’s focused on providing fast, reliable, and eco-friendly cleaning services. What makes Limpiar special is our commitment to both sustainability and technology. We’ve developed an AI-powered platform that allows customers to seamlessly book cleaning services, offering real-time updates and a stress-free experience. Our approach isn’t just about cleaning—it’s about transforming the industry by prioritizing health, wellness, and convenience.

At Limpiar, we’re passionate about redefining consumer behavior toward more eco-conscious choices. Our services help customers maintain their homes and businesses with high-quality, non-toxic cleaning products and eco-friendly practices. This allows us to offer solutions that are good for both people and the planet.

One of the most exciting things happening right now is our expansion. We’re scaling to new markets, doubling our team of cleaners, and working with property managers, HOAs, and commercial clients to bring sustainable cleaning to a wider audience. We’re also focusing on new partnerships, including collaborations with other eco-friendly brands to create special campaigns, like our upcoming spring cleaning campaign.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Relationship Building: The power of mentorship and building meaningful relationships cannot be understated. As a first-generation immigrant navigating the business world, I leaned on my network to guide me through challenges. These connections not only provided valuable advice but also opened doors to new opportunities. I encourage others to prioritize building relationships early on, especially with mentors and peers who share your values and can offer guidance. Networking isn’t just about getting ahead—it’s about creating a community that will support you throughout your journey.

Adaptability: The ability to pivot or adjust strategies quickly is key, especially in the fast-changing world of business. In my experience with Limpiar, there have been times when we had to shift our go-to-market strategy or rethink our product offerings. Being adaptable helped us evolve instead of getting stuck. My advice for developing this is to embrace change rather than resist it. The more comfortable you get with uncertainty, the better prepared you’ll be to handle the unexpected.

Resilience: Building a business comes with countless challenges, and resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks. There were times when I doubted myself or faced roadblocks that felt insurmountable. Staying resilient allowed me to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacle. For those early in their journey, I recommend focusing on your “why”—the core reason behind what you’re doing. When you have a clear purpose, it becomes easier to push through difficult moments.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Alongside instilling work ethic, another impactful thing my parents did for me was giving me autonomy and trust. They allowed me the freedom to explore my own path, make decisions, and learn from both my successes and failures. This trust empowered me to take risks, like transitioning into entrepreneurship, knowing I had their support even if I stumbled along the way.

In addition, they invested in my education, which gave me the tools and knowledge I needed to navigate the challenges I faced. They believed in the power of education not only for career growth but also for personal development. This combination of autonomy, trust, and education helped shape me into the person I am today—driven, independent, and always striving to learn and grow.
