Meet Deneen Joyner

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deneen Joyner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Deneen, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

What I have come to understand about what one would call our purpose or calling; is that it is something you are becoming even before being placed inside your mother’s womb. God or whomever you refer to as your Creator already knew your divine purpose and therefore knew exactly what circumstances would prepare you to arrive at your highest self and destiny!

In retrospect I can truly see, how I was being shaped and molded into my purpose.

There was a lot of emotional pain and trauma throughout my childhood as well as in my adulthood, due to unknowingly recreating painful scenarios that were familiar yet unhealthy.

I would graduate from high school and go onto to attend a university majoring in psychology just because I wanted to understand human behavior, hoping that it would bring me to gain clarity around my family and personal experiences growing up emotionally and physically abandoned and neglected.

Upon graduation with my bachelor’s degree, I went into helping children who were awarded custody of the state due to an array of areas of neglect and later I worked both with children and their families in the field of social services as a caseworker. This was the entry point to learning about family dynamics and how trauma can impact us in many different ways.

I secured many other positions throughout my professional career that placed me closer and closer to the intimacies and inner workings of families. What I didn’t know or realize is that I was learning firsthand information I would later be using to apply to my divine purpose.

I believed the entire time that the work I had been doing in the field of social work, was my purpose and reason for being on earth, but what I didn’t truly understand that this work, was just the beginning!

It wasn’t until later in my life, did I connect to the longing for something more because I felt as if I had come to the end of the road with my career.

Many things happened that set me on a path to begin a personal healing journey, to finally look back at my own emotional pain and trauma. On this journey, I uncovered and discovered my true purpose and today carry on my family’s legacy of helping others to heal their soul’s so they may arrive at their divine purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am honored to offer and continue my maternal Native American ancestor’s ancient indigenous soul healing practices to those who are carrying emotional pain and trauma stemming from childhood and their emotional ancestry. These soul healing practices are the same ones that healed me from over four decades of pain and trauma.

Since the age of five, I have had the ability to tap into some truly amazing divine gifts surrounding being an empath, intuitive and being able to connect to Holy Spirit to channel divine wisdom and personal information regarding a person and their emotional roots and divine identity. Using the foundational practices of my ancestors, my gifts, and education, along with my extensive study of children and family dynamics have proven to be a powerful compliment to guide and assist others who are seeking spiritual healing and soul resolution.

I believe the incredible and unique part about how I do what I do, is utilizing my gifts before I ever meet or interact with the person seeking my services. Meaning, once they schedule for services online, I immediately go into meditation on their behalf to connect with their soul’s journey and to access through the Holy Spirit their emotional framework, ancestral roots, and divine identity relating to the family they were born into.

Whenever I meet with my clients either in person or virtually and deliver their soul journey, they are overcome with gratitude for my being able to provide such detail and clarity pertaining to the story of who they are. They also feel validated and hope as they learn so much about why they experienced the pain and trauma they have.

My work is extremely rewarding! I feel so honored that God would use me to help others in such a profound way, that ultimately lends to aligning people with healing their lives so they may be positioned to remember who they are and fulfill their divine purpose.

I am new to the Los Angeleas area and will be offering indigenous teachings on a variety of subject matters pertaining to ancestral trauma and soul healing throughout the city via local libraries, nonprofits, and organizations.

I also have partnered with an amazing healer by the name of Angela Rena, The Creative Doula to offer healing circles every third Thursday of the month in Leimert Park, 7:00 pm-8:30pm at the KAOS Theater at 4343 Leimert Blvd 90008. We also are offering pop us healing circles to any organization who wants to offer healing as a resource due to the LA fires. Those interested in any of my services and offerings should reach out via my email. [email protected]

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

One quality that I possess that has proven to be impactful to my journey is the ability to be a lifelong learner. Because I understand that as long as I’m living here on this earth that there are still lessons to learn and master, I have stayed open to becoming a student of my life and that of others. Another quality is learning to extend forgiveness to myself and others because again there is a lesson involved. When I forgive, I’m able to release holding onto the energy that could make me its hostage and instead create space for freedom, happiness, and abundance.

I’ve learned that everything that I’ve been through in my life mainly the challenges, pain and trauma were sent to bolster me and prepare me perfectly for my divine purpose. I can honestly say that nothing has been waisted, and I am humbled to be able to use my life to be of service to others.

No one ever taught me how to respond to emotional pain and trauma and this seems to be the case for so many others. Be open to change and elevating your emotional intelligence. Pay attention and study your family’s history regarding emotions, which generationally includes the protocols lending to how you have been taught about pain, trauma, and healing. Also stay open to uncovering these mysteries ongoing so that you can create a different emotional blueprint for yourself and the future generations of your family. Once you have emotional awareness, the sky is the limit!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always looking to collaborate with individuals, groups, podcasts, or organizations that are open to teaching and sharing spiritual empowerment, personal growth development, holistic healing, and Native American healing with the public. I’m looking for opportunities to educate and teach others about spirit led self-guided soul healing, ancestral trauma, and uncovering the emotional roots known as generational curses. I’m also available as a keynote speaker for women’s groups and retreats,
