Meet Denise

We recently connected with Denise and have shared our conversation below.

Denise , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I started developing confidence and self=esteem at a older age when I was in my 20s

As a child I was made of alot because of my disability and I listen to alot of that negativity and didn’t think much of myself through junior high and high school

After loosing my best friend to suicide after high school I knew that I didn’t want to do the same thing she did

So I found help by talking to a psychologist and I started volunteering in the disabled community

That’s where I started to believe in myself and found my confidence and self=esteem

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Hi My name is Denise Reynaga. I have a disability by the name of Spina Bifida and a Brain Injury from a car accident when I was a child.

I am a volunteer in the disability community as well as a advocate and a disabled makeup artist and also i am Ms Wheelchair Cailfornia first runner up 2016.

What i find exciting and special about what I do is that I grt to meet new people and make new friendships that last a lifetime as well as helping them find their purpose and goals in life

As of right now I have been setting my goals to finding my forever home and getting noticed in the cosmetic industry. I have filled out a application to become a plus model for Torrid.

I’m hoping and praying that I do get noticed someday but until then I will keep helping others like myself reach their dreams and goals. I will also keep advocating and fighting for disability rights and making this world a more beautiful place with helping women and men to look great with my cosmetics

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think my three qualities were is ( Believing in Myself), ( I’m a People Person) and I’m a Overcomer

My advice for the younger generation is to never give up if you fall get right back up and continue to fight for what you want and believe.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

If I only had a decade to live i would spend it doing anything and everything I was scared to do in the past and travel the world. Spend more time with my friends and family. Raise money for different causes. Get closer to the lord and continue to help as many people as I can before I leave
