We were lucky to catch up with Denise, La Artista Conquistadora! recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise,, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity was planted in my heart by my Mother. Although she passed away when I was 11, her messages stuck with me throughout my life. I found myself always wanting everyone around me to succeed and believe in themselves as much as she believed in me. However, my generosity flourished when I discovered my faith. Thanks to the teachings of Abraham Hicks and the reconnection with a few friends on a growth journey, I rediscovered the joy of living and the power of giving. I also learned to release and let go in order to enter the constant flow of life in the present moment. I read the book, “Busting Loose from the Money Game,” and put into practice its methods. This lead me to a Taoist Temple that restored balance in my life and reignited my love for gratitude and generosity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’ve reached a point in my career where my ability to accomplish works of art, publish music, and produce films, has placed me in a position to teach and expand others’ visionary goals. I paint portraits and murals, produce music, write & direct films, and edit, composite, and publish books. My inspirations are Frida Kahlo, Quentin Tarantino, Wong Kar-wai, Alfred Hitchcock, and Roald Dahl. Pulling from my admiration of their abilities, my creative works reflect their mastery.
I recently directed my best film, but due to creative differences and legalities, it may never see the light of day. This was a devastating and heartbreaking experience for me because I love sharing what I am capable of, however, it also taught me more about how to protect my heart when it comes to pouring my soul into projects. It was a huge lesson in letting go and furthermore, maintaining a moral and ethical practice when it comes to the sensitivities of all parties involved in a project.
I’m now preparing to publish three of my novels, a children’s picture book, painting a graphic novel series, and always ready to direct the next film.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three skills that profoundly shaped my journey as a creator are pre-production paperwork, contract releases, and non-refundable deposits. These are not just administrative tasks. They are the backbone of professional artistry.
Always copyright your work and ensure every release form is signed and dated in ink. If you’re new to industry practices, budget an entertainment lawyer into your pre-production process. Their guidance is invaluable when publishing or releasing any creative work.
Never underestimate the power of a non-refundable deposit. It shifts attention away from you and onto the project itself, ensuring your time and energy are respected. As artists, our mission is to master our craft. Valuing our time and compensating ourselves even for considering outside projects is essential.
This is a lifetime dedicated to an infinite practice of self-mastery. Stay authentic, protect your work, and avoid AI shortcuts at all costs. Your craft, reputation, and creative legacy depend on it.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
As previously mentioned, “Busting Loose from the Money Game,” changed my POV that became essential to my future success. The broke mentality fuels this idea that artists should be starving. Once I valued my self, it became easier to ask for the compensation I deserve. It also allowed me to let go, release, and live in an infinite present.
