We recently connected with Denise Marra and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise , so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?

I luckily have support from my parents. I know that if it comes to me ever failing, my parents will always back me up. I also don’t feel like taking a risk is ever a failure, it’s a learning experience.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Marra Beauty was born during Covid. I started off by wanting to apply lash extensions but I realized it wasn’t for me. I had already started Esthetician school at Paul Mitchell so it was too late for me to drop it. To my surprise, I found love for waxing.
At Marra Beauty we offer full body waxing, brow laminations with tint, makeup and lash lifts. Our main service is Brazilian wax and brow laminations. Pretty soon we will be offering hair dos that you can add on with your makeup for parties.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Quality number 1 is probably passion. I found passion in what I do and it has allowed me to reflect it to my clients and work.
Quality or skill number 2 is probably me being outgoing. I know a lot of people and most of my clients have been people that I know. Word spreads so that allowed me to grow in the industry without having to work for someone for long.
Area of knowledge is taking advice from a business owner her self and now friend. She said “if you have fear, do everything with fear. You will be surprised with the outcome”. I listened and I have been surprised ever since.

How would you describe your ideal client?

Someone who values smooth, flawless skin and enjoys a relaxing, pampering experience. They appreciate top-notch service, high-quality products, and a welcoming environment where their comfort and satisfaction are the top priority.
