Meet Denise Mosley

We recently connected with Denise Mosley and have shared our conversation below.

Denise, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Finding purpose in life is one of those things that we all hear a lot of from everyone around us. We hear how much most people want to “find it.” They spend most of their lives either saying they don’t know what their purpose is or they are trying to find it.; and I get it. It can seem challenging to attain- because we are constantly hearing that “you should have a purpose.”

How did I find my purpose? That’s a good question because I feel like my purpose found me.

Your purpose in life is as unique to you as your fingerprint. We all have a particular set of talents, experiences, skill sets, and interests that light us up. Purpose is related to these, but it is your reason for being. It is why you get out of bed in the morning, even when the day is dreary, you’re tired, and you know the tasks and challenges ahead are going to be hard or even boring.

Purpose is the long game, not the short-term goal. You never get to the end of it. However, even a strong sense of purpose can wear you down. That’s why, ideally, your purpose blends with what interests you and brings you joy.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Church Emerge, Inc. serves as an outreach ministry with a mission to reach into the community to facilitate and challenge growth in families as a whole, but also women as individuals, small businesses, young adults seeking guidance and answers to lead them toward meaningful paths on their journey… and most importantly we are advocates and proponents of Jesus Christ. We lead a Women’s ministry group that is over 1,300 women strong. Our most focused mission is strengthening women through community through prayer, encouraging one another, meeting needs where we can and being purposeful by hosting a yearly conference called The Strength of A Woman.

The binding mission says it all:

We are in an age where we we must pour into other women – both young and old; women who have a passion and desire to fulfill every part of who she is… mother, wife, business woman, preacher, teacher, leader, financier, community advocate…. all of that makes up who we are! The Strength of a Woman is all about women deciding to use the power that resides within them by learning and gaining the confidence from another woman to push her beyond what she knows and giver her the strength to decide what kind of world she wants her world to be and those who will grown and profit from it. In this MOVEMENT…WE EMPOWER OURSELVES AND THE WORLD AROUND US….this is what we have coined S.O.W and as we move into our 3rd year of annual conference filled with speakers, panelists, priceless resources and ways to give back to to the community by giving proceeds from it to graduating seniors and single mothers raising special needs children- we have had the humble pleasure of seeing this conference grow larger and larger every year. And this year we are opening the conference up to the entire family and including a career fair to meet the tangible need of employment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that have guided and pushed my passion for ministry, community and a desire to see people (especially women) meet their full potential have been confidence in believing that I can overcome any obstacle that has stands in my way simply by having a relationship with Jesus Christ and applying Christian principle throughout my life. My hearts desire is to always, always ALWAYS have this confidence in Jesus on full display as well as showing that I’ve overcome as a means to challenge others around me. Quality number two and three? I think a huge part of my passion for purpose is a desire to continuously grow and becoming a better version of myself always. These qualities combined give fuel to purpose for me.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are always looking for collaborators in the area of discipleship, Marketplace Ministry, Worldwide Community Advocacy, Family Advocacy, Women Empowerment and meeting the needs of those who can not speak for themselves on a regular basis. I know this sounds huge and almost impossible to achieve but we have found that any amount of movement moves the needle just enough to make a difference… enough to inspire others to pick up the baton and keep going.

We are looking for folks who are not afraid to stand. We are looking for folks who are not afraid to be heard. We are looking for folks who don’t care about what others think of them. We are looking for people who won’t allow fear to paralyze them and who are always ready to go at the sound of vision calling.
