We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Derrick Ingram. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Derrick below.
Derrick , thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
I developed my ability to take risks through real-life experience—first as a Division 1 athlete, where high pressure and performance were part of daily life, and later as a young entrepreneur. Competing at that level taught me to trust my training, adapt quickly, and perform under uncertainty. That mindset carried over when I took my first major leap: opening my own shoe store before I even turned 22. Most people saw it as risky—I saw it as necessary growth.
Later, I launched my streetwear brand, LONEWOLFbyd, built from the ground up with my own vision and resources. Creating a fashion brand with zero guarantees forced me to bet on myself in every way—from product design to manufacturing to marketing. Every move involved uncertainty, but I became comfortable navigating the unknown. Now, under 25, I’ve built something real. Risk didn’t just become part of my journey—it became the reason I grew.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of LONEWOLFbyd, a streetwear brand that reflects independence, ambition, and individuality. What makes the brand special is that it’s more than just clothing—it’s a mindset. I started as a D1 athlete, then ran a shoe store, and now, under 25, I’ve built this brand from scratch. Every piece I release is rooted in story and intention, blending cut-and-sew craftsmanship with street culture.
What excites me most is creating high-quality, thought-out collections that challenge the norm and speak to people who feel like they move differently. Our next drop includes custom acid-washed sets and unisex pieces that push the LONEWOLF aesthetic even further.
This isn’t fast fashion—it’s a lifestyle. And it’s only the beginning.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities in my journey have been discipline, vision, and adaptability.
Discipline came from my background as an athlete. The habits I built in training, managing time, and pushing through setbacks laid the foundation for how I approach business—consistently showing up and executing even when it’s uncomfortable.
Vision is what drove me to start my own shoe store and later launch LONEWOLFbyd. I didn’t just want to sell clothes—I wanted to build something that represents people who move differently. Having a clear vision helps you stay grounded when things get chaotic.
Adaptability is everything. From learning how to source manufacturers to building a website to managing shipping logistics—none of it came with a manual. I had to learn on the go and be willing to pivot fast.
For anyone early in their journey: build your discipline through structure, sharpen your vision by getting clear on your “why,” and train your adaptability by saying yes to learning things that scare you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I’m always open to collaborating with like-minded creatives, brands, and individuals who bring value, energy, and vision. I’m especially interested in working with photographers, stylists, influencers, fashion designers, and content creators who understand the LONEWOLFbyd aesthetic—bold, street-rooted, and built on individuality.
If you’re someone who moves with intention and wants to build something bigger than just a look, hit me up. Let’s create something impactful.
