We were lucky to catch up with Desiree Catherwood recently and have shared our conversation below.

Desiree, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose in lashing after I graduated from cosmetology school. I realized that hair just wasn’t for me. I decided to give lashing a try and fell in love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I do Lash extensions in Rockwall Texas. Lash extensions are individual fibers that I carefully place onto your eyelash. I isolate each natural lash and place an extensions 1-2mm away from the eyelid. What I love the most about lashing, not only do I get to meet strong and powerful women. I get to make them feel beautiful.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Positivity , confidence, and never stop learning. My advice is to always keep a positive mindset. It’s very easy to fall into negativity and comparing yourself to other peers. Having confidence boosts your self esteem , improves resilience , and reduces any anxiety or stress. The more you further your education. You will start to make the right decisions for your business. By embracing lifelong learning you can navigate challenges , seize opportunities, and drive business success!

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Being a wife , mom , and a business owner I find that I can lack in my social media presence. I’m resolving the issue by creating a social media schedule. Creating content days and reminding my self to take before and after pictures and videos.
