Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Desmond Agyeman-duah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Desmond, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience stems from my optimistic outlook on tomorrow. I firmly believe that in a split second, one’s life can change dramatically. This mindset drives me to make every day count, pouring my heart and soul into everything I do. Whether it’s delivering exceptional service to my clients, nurturing my loved ones, or cultivating meaningful friendships, I strive to give my all, every day.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hello, my name is Desmond Agyeman-Duah, and I’m a photographer based in Accra, Ghana. With eight years of experience in the industry, I’ve developed a passion for capturing vibrant and aesthetic images that tell a story.

My photography style is characterised by meticulous composition and a bold use of colors, which I believe adds uniqueness and visual appeal to my work. As the founder of Agyeman Duah Photography, my brand offers a range of services, including weddings, events, editorial, commercial , and video production.

In addition to Agyeman Duah Photography, I also co-founded Faceless, a subsidiary brand that showcases my creative vision. Faceless has recently launched a new collection dedicated to boxing, which can be viewed on our website at (www.getfaceless.net)

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities that have been instrumental to my success throughout my photography journey are passion, dedication, and talent.

Passion is what drives me to continuously push the boundaries of my creativity. Without it, I wouldn’t have the energy or motivation to pursue my goals.

Dedication is crucial in my line of work. I’ve had to invest countless hours in research, practice, and perfecting my craft. There have been times when I’ve had to make sacrifices, but my dedication to photography has always kept me focused.

Talent is the foundation upon which my passion and dedication are built. It’s what allows me to compose shots, work with colors, and capture moments in a way that’s unique to me.

These three qualities have been essential to my growth as a photographer, and I believe they will continue to guide me as I navigate the ever-evolving world of photography.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most significant influence in my life has been my parents, particularly my father. His unwavering support and trust in me have been instrumental in shaping my journey. What I admire most about my dad is that he never judged me or pressured me to follow in his footsteps. Instead, he encouraged me to explore my passions and supported me every step of the way.

I recall a pivotal moment when I was trying to decide on a career path. My dad advised me to take my time, think carefully about what I wanted to do, and come back to him with my decision. This guidance helped me discover my true passion for photography.

During a visit to the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), my friend introduced me to photography. I was captivated by the art form and knew instantly that it was what I wanted to pursue. I shared my decision with my dad, and he supported me wholeheartedly.

My parents’ unwavering support and encouragement have been a constant source of inspiration for me. I am forever grateful for their influence in my life, and I strive to make them proud through my work.
