Hi Destine, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

It’s the God in me ! I know that I was made perfect in his image. As crazy as it may seem I feel as if I was born with high confidence and self esteem . No matter how I look or what I have on I have always felt like that girl . I’ve always known that peoples opinions were just that.. OPINIONS. Growing up I was always told how beautiful I was by family, friends and strangers so I guess that helped a bit lol. I have never let people’s opinions of me influence how I feel about myself! Even on my worst days nobody can tell me anything. I have always felt as if I was in a league of my own. When you compare yourself to others that is when you fall short and lose confidence in yourself. How you view
yourself is how others will view you.

Goodmorning , Goodafternoon, Goodevening! My name is Destiné and I am Destined for greatness. I am a strong independent black woman and a single mother to a beautiful little girl. Her father was killed when I was two weeks pregnant. I am a singer, songwriter, rapper and creative through the adversity. I am special because my talent is God given and purpose driven. I have been taking a break from music for the past and embarking on a spiritual journey to align myself fully with what God has for me. I want to make sure everything I do is purposeful and spreads the right message. I aspire to bring joy to others with my music and be a positive influence on the world! I don’t want to create worldly music that fits in I want to orchestrate my own lane and influence and I will do just that

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the three qualities that are most impactful in my journey are confidence, creativity and individuality. I am very confident in my skills, talents and creative abilities and it shows in my work . I am creative in all aspects of life I can’t even get dressed without taking something from my closet and making something new . I know there is no one like me on the planet and take pride in my individuality. The advice I have for others choosing the same career path is to drop that music! I have so many songs that I didn’t drop when I created them now I have evolved and I don’t resonate with them. I am not the same person nor in the same headspace. So drop it while you’re in that head space and feeling that song.
Another word of advice is don’t drop something you are not 100% confident in. That song you kind of like could be the only song a person ever hears of yours ! All of your music should be a clear representation of you and what you want to be heard.
Another word of advise is to DO THE MOST. You are never doing to much when it comes to your craft , purpose and creativity. Always speak your mind so things are done to your liking. Don’t be afraid to speak up when it comes to your music and vision !

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

God had been the most helpful in helping me overcome challenges! I am a people person but I don’t talk to people often. I’ve learned to talk to God. Every tough situation I’ve been in God has pulled me out and all the glory goes to him . I’d be nothing without him. That tiny voice in the back of my head telling me to follow my dreams has always been God even when I didn’t realize it.
