We were lucky to catch up with Destinee L. Felder recently and have shared our conversation below.
Destinee L. , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose through God and through the layered experiences of my life. It wasn’t a single moment, it was a series of revelations, each one shaped by grace, grief, and grit. God whispered clarity into my spirit during seasons of transition, and life echoed that truth through every challenge I overcame. My purpose revealed itself not just in what I survived, but in how I chose to serve. Which is through ceremony, through advocacy, through beauty. It’s the divine assignment I carry into every wedding I officiate, every small business and corporation I market, and every boundary I honor. Purpose, for me, is sacred. It’s legacy in motion.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a paralegal student, I’m deeply focused on strengthening my advocacy skills and building a foundation that supports both my community and my legacy. School isn’t just about earning a degree for me — it’s about refining the language of justice, understanding the architecture of legal systems, and learning how to protect what matters most. I approach my studies with the same intentionality I bring to my businesses: clarity, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to excellence.
What excites me most is the intersection between law and lived experience. Every class, every case study, is a chance to deepen my ability to serve with precision and compassion.
While school is my current focus, I’m still nurturing my brands. The Palmetto Directory, Statutebook Mobile Notary Service DBA Made for Matrimony with quiet strength. I’ve recently expanded The Palmetto Directory to include Guam, and I’m preparing to host our first business exposition in South Carolina on June 6, 2026. My wedding services continue to evolve, blending floral styling, ceremony design, and concierge support into emotionally resonant experiences.
But above all, I’m learning to honor the season I’m in. School is teaching me discipline, discernment, and the power of silence. It’s helping me protect my peace while preparing to advocate for others. And that, to me, is sacred.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been emotional intelligence, strategic communication, and legal literacy.
Emotional intelligence gave me the ability to navigate grief, transition, and client work with grace. It taught me how to listen deeply, honor boundaries, and create experiences that resonate beyond the surface. For those early in their journey, I’d say: cultivate self-awareness. Learn to name your emotions without shame, and build rituals that help you reset and protect your peace.
Strategic communication helped me position my brand, advocate for myself, and speak with clarity in both academic and professional spaces. Whether I’m writing a legal brief or designing a bridal service, I lean on editorial structure, poetic language, and premium formatting. My advice: study how language moves people. Practice writing with intention not just to inform, but to affirm.
Legal literacy is the backbone of my current season. As a paralegal student, I’m learning how to protect intellectual property, prepare housing packets, and understand the systems that shape our lives. For anyone starting out: don’t wait to be an expert. Begin by reading contracts, asking questions, and learning how to advocate for yourself in everyday decisions.
These three areas have helped me turn adversity into empowerment. They’re not just skills. They’re sacred tools for legacy-building.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I am open to strategic partnerships with businesses and professionals whose values align with clarity, emotional intelligence, and legacy-driven impact. I welcome collaboration with wedding Industry professionals, legal advocates, law firms, realtors, and mortgage brokers, and entertainment companies.
If you represent an entity that values thoughtful execution and premium positioning, I invite you to connect through The Palmetto Directory. I prioritize collaborations that honor emotional labor, uphold professional boundaries, and contribute to meaningful outcomes. Let’s build with intention and elevate the standard together.
