We were lucky to catch up with Devante Springer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Devante, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Taking time to prioritize myself. Figuring out what was good for me from what wasn’t. Finally putting myself after putting myself last for so long.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a Music Artist from the Bronx, NY. I’m a member of a dope and upcoming group named Beaast Mobb and we specialize in music, production, videography and much more. The other members are Leash DA Beaast who’s the founder, videographer, producer, engineer & artist, Queen Dia who’s a spoken word artist and painter, Shalette is who an artist and designer and K-Bliss who’s also an artist. Each of us has individual work as well as 3 albums as a collective.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities, skills or areas that were most impactful for me were having patience because nothing is guaranteed or given. You must work hard for it and it won’t come easy. Second, consistency because you have to keep getting better, keep mastering your craft and keep promoting your art, your business, etc. Lastly, networking because in order for people to know about you and what you do, you have to put yourself out there to be noticed. My advice for a anyone that’s early in their journey is stay focused, work hard, stay consistent, do not compare yourself to others and stay in your own lane, network, have a good heart and stay true to self.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
My number one obstacle would be just believing in myself more. What I do is look back at all that I’ve done so far and see how much I’ve worked hard on each project then look at how I can continue to improve while building my self confidence and release self doubt.
