We recently connected with Devon Alarid and have shared our conversation below.
Devon, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I credit my work ethic to a mix of family influence and my background as a dancer. My parents always modeled that hard work pays off—whether that meant staying late, keeping your word, or taking pride in every job, big or small. My brother led by example too; he’s one of those people who never does anything halfway, and that rubbed off on me early.
But it was dance that truly shaped my discipline. Growing up, I learned quickly that nothing comes without practice. You had to balance schoolwork, rehearsals, and taking care of your body, all while striving for that next level—whether it was nailing a turn sequence, landing a new trick, or earning your spot on a team. That combination of structure, passion, and accountability is something I’ve carried into every part of my life and career.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the founder and creative producer behind Alarid Productions, which currently runs two immersive brunch experiences — Punk Rock Brunch and Haunted Brunch — both at The Composers Room in Las Vegas. Each show blends live music, theater, and over-the-top visuals to create something that feels more like a mini concert than a traditional brunch.
Our spooky-season hit, Haunted Brunch, is expanding this winter — we’re moving to the Las Vegas Strip starting December 5th at The Magician’s Room inside the LINQ Promenade, where it will run year-round. We’re also developing our first out-of-state production, which is incredibly exciting as we grow the brand beyond Vegas.
Alongside that, I recently joined the team at Pompey Entertainment, a company I’ve loved collaborating with over the years. I was truly humbled when they asked me to step in as General Manager of Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club. My first project there is The Long Lunch — the club’s first-ever curated open mic, inspired by 1960s Mad Men-style lunches filled with jazz, cocktails, and creative conversation. We open December 11th, and it feels like the perfect blend of my love for production, performance, and community.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For me, the three most impactful qualities have been reliability, resilience, and being enjoyable to work with. I really believe the best teams are made up of people who show up, stay kind under pressure, and make the workday a little brighter for everyone around them—whether that’s your cast, your venue staff, or your audience.
I’ve always loved helping others wherever I can. I’ll never forget how hard I struggled learning trapeze during my cruise ship days—we had an eight-minute-long quad trapeze act, and I was so grateful to the other dancers who shared every tip and trick they could to help me improve. That experience taught me the power of mentorship and collaboration. Now, when our dancers want to learn pole, lollipop, or aerial, it’s a joy to pass down those skills and watch their confidence grow as they master new apparatuses.
Looking back, I wish I’d wasted fewer thoughts on body image or worrying about not being cast in certain shows. My path wasn’t always clear, but it was meant for me. I moved to Las Vegas knowing just one person—ten years later, I’m married with two kids, part of the Pompey Entertainment team, and producing two incredible casts of my own. If I could tell anyone starting out one thing, it’s this: work hard, stay kind, and trust that everything will work out in the end.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Right now, my biggest challenge is finding balance between my creative world, my leadership role, and my family life. Between producing two shows with Alarid Productions and managing Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club, my days can easily stretch from early morning drop-offs to late-night closings. It’s easy to get caught up in the momentum, especially when you care deeply about every project and every person involved.
To stay grounded, I’ve developed a game plan to divide and conquer—leaning on the incredible strengths of the already well-oiled team that keeps the club running smoothly. I absolutely adore my dance captains, company manager, and cast members, and at the club, I’m lucky to rely on strong team members with expertise in the kitchen, behind the bar, and in ticketing. Trusting the people around me allows me to focus where I’m most effective while ensuring the culture stays collaborative and upbeat.
I’m also learning that balance doesn’t always mean equal time—it means being fully present wherever I am. Protecting mornings with my kids, setting boundaries around work hours, and giving myself space to recharge all help me show up as a better leader, mom, and creative.
