Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diamond Alessandra. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Diamond, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding my purpose was a journey that began with an avid urge to do something that was outside of my environment’s norm. Whenever I tried to share my vision, it seemed too vast for others to grasp. This isolation from family and friends led me to discover parts of my heart and mind that I never knew existed. In this solitude, I began to hear my true thoughts and feel my genuine emotions with clarity.
At the time, I was working at a job that felt like a dead end. Life seemed to offer nothing beyond this, and I felt trapped. One night, after coming home from work, I took a nap and woke up around midnight. I was overwhelmed with unhappiness and couldn’t stop crying. In that moment of despair, I felt a profound shift within me. I asked myself, “What is my purpose?”, and I distinctly heard God’s voice in my right ear saying, “Trust Me.”
It was a surreal experience, but it made me realize that to discover my true purpose, I had to trust in both the God within me and the God above.
Since that moment, my journey has been challenging but enlightening. I have learned so much about myself and my purpose. The key to finding my purpose was to have deep understanding of myself, and allowing myself to fall in love with who I am. This required self-analysis and implementation of change in all aspects of my life, in particular, changing the environment I had outgrown, releasing the emotional traumas I was holding onto, and identifying and releasing the fears or belief systems that were hindering my growth.
I also realized that we can have multiple purposes within various stages of our lives. Our purpose can evolve as we grow and change, reflecting our development and the different phases we go through. The overall goal is to ascend to our highest self.
Ultimately, to find your true purpose in life, you must know yourself inside and out, have faith in your abilities (faith is a mindset), and believe in a higher power beyond yourself. Embrace the idea that your purpose may shift and expand over time, allowing you to continue growing and fulfilling your potential at every stage of your life.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Talent Manager and A&R Director of Administration, dedicated to overseeing and nurturing a diverse array of talent, including actors, models, content creators, and influencers. My role involves not only managing their careers but also ensuring that their business structures are organized and efficient, maximizing their opportunities for success. I currently work closely with Tassell Talent Group, a premier talent management company serving the Southeast, New York, and Los Angeles, and I also oversee administrative operations at Hot Producers Only. Through these collaborations, I strive to create a seamless and productive environment for all the talent we represent.
What excites me most about my job is working with amazing creatives. Through this work, I not only fulfill my purpose but also help creatives get closer to identifying and fulfilling their own purposes. It is incredibly rewarding to support talented individuals in reaching their full potential and fulfilling their dreams.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The top three qualities or skills that have been most impactful in my journey are organization, time management, and being a student of the game.
1. Organization: To excel in my role, I must be highly organized. This ensures I am always prepared for any moment or opportunity, whether it’s for myself or my clients. Staying organized allows me to handle the various demands of my job efficiently and effectively. It will always be busy.
2. Time Management: Time management has been a crucial skill, though it’s something I’ve struggled with since childhood. As I’ve grown and taken on more responsibilities, mastering time management has become essential. Efficiently managing my time helps me stay on top of my tasks and be effective for both myself and my business.
3. Being a Student of the Game: No one knows everything. By maintaining the mindset of a student, I remain open to gaining new knowledge and insights. This continuous learning process allows me to grow and adapt, ensuring I stay ahead within my field.
Advice for Aspiring Talent Managers:
– Stay Organized: Develop strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and opportunities effectively. Even if this means you have to continuously reorganize to be the most effective. There is not one perfect way to organize something. Be creative.
– Master Time Management: Continuously work on improving your time management skills to handle the increasing demands of your role.
– Always Learn: Embrace a lifelong learning attitude. Stay curious, seek out new information, and be open to learning from every experience.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
As someone who typically has a very busy schedule, I have developed strategies to manage feeling overwhelmed.
Here’s what I do:
1. Identify the Cause: When I start to feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and pinpoint exactly what is causing this emotion. Understanding the source of my stress is the first step toward addressing it effectively.
2. Focus on Self-Care: Once I identify the cause, I shift my focus to self-care. If work is the source of my overwhelm, I give myself permission to take a break and engage in activities that make me feel good and at peace. The specific activity depends on what I need at the moment, but my go-tos include:
– Meditation: Calming my mind and focusing on my breath to center myself.
– Yoga or Stretching: Releasing tension and reconnecting with my body.
– Learning Something New: Engaging my mind in a different way by researching or expanding my knowledge.
– Taking a Break: Simply stepping out for a coffee or tea break to relax and refresh, or take a nap.
The bottom line is that when I feel overwhelmed, I prioritize self-care and do what’s necessary to restore my balance and peace.
