We were lucky to catch up with Diamond Capreé recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Diamond , so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?
I have to step away completely from the song. Do something totally different like listen to an episode from a podcast or watch an interview from of an artist, something different to clear my mind then come back with fresh ears. I’m not one to force it, that usually doesn’t work for me. I want words to make sense so badly, sometimes I over do it.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am in a new space in my life that enjoys well written things. It can be scripts, tv shows, books and especially songs. I’ve enjoyed the art of writing, I pride myself on getting better with every song. I’m writing a new project from a recent events that happened in my life and caused a heartbreak. Now I also love to write for others and I’m always open to writing for artists, cowriting as well.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
What I really would say is try and learn to record yourself at home. Nowadays every one has a in home studio. Learn to record yourself, mixing too. It helps along the way. That way you can have an idea on how you like to sound. Also when you want to record something quick you don’t have to wait for a studio session.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I would really love to lock in with a producer. I think me as a songwriter and having a producer partner could really set things off!
