Diamond, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience is a product of my foremothers and my spiritual journey. My grandma laid the foundation for my resilience through guidance, nurturing, and understanding. The many lessons gained from her experiences showed me that falling is merely an opportunity to rise again. Although in 2021, she lost her battle with cancer, she is with me every day through her stories and memories. My mommy is another person who has given me the courage to withstand difficulties. During my youth, her ability to always find a way to accomplish set goals was instilled in me. Lastly, my spiritual journey has helped me to find the strength to push forward through adversity. On this journey, I have been shown that I will always be in a position to receive what’s for my highest good with patience, perseverance, and peace.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a serial entrepreneur, I focus on multiple streams of income. I am a full-time intra-day trader that specializes in indices. My favorite part about this stream of income is the freedom and flexibility that it affords. As a community organizer, I create hair and lifestyle content when I feel led. The most beautiful aspect of creating is the space cultivated for people to learn and fully immerse themselves in entertainment. I’m currently on the path of honing my modalities of healing through learning about herbalism, reiki, and meditation training. Being a healer has given me a sense of purpose and fuels my ability to create and trade with clarity.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe the three qualities that were most impactful on my journey were: consistency, faith, and an eagerness to learn. When I began cultivating a loc community, I started out by developing a consistent schedule. In order to create a brand for yourself, consistency is key! It allows your community to become familiar with you and to know what and when to expect engagement. One of the best ways to build consistency is by creating a schedule and committing to it. Faith is going to be a pivotal component of any journey that you decide to take. It will help you in moments of uncertainty and be the fuel needed on the days that you want to give up. I’ve written affirming sticky notes, held thought-provoking conversations, and journaled to keep my faith along my journey of serial entrepreneurship. The most important of these three is an eagerness to learn. I believe this is true because this has allowed me to accept the unknown and reach for guidance through learning. YouTube University is one of my favorite places to gather information. If you have an eagerness to learn nothing can stop you from attaining whatsoever you may need to succeed.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I take a moment to pause and assess where this feeling is arising from. Once I have determined the area where there’s a need, I find a way to fulfill it by removing myself, practicing a breathing exercise, and then finding the best way to calm my nerves. Music and podcasts always tend to help ease me in moments of overwhelm.
