We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Diamond Davis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Diamond below.

Diamond, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I have experienced so much loss in my life, including the passing of my birth mother, my adoptive mother, and a sister. With this, I have learned that I have to live for them and continue to make them proud. While cleaning out my sister’s apartment after her passing, I found her vision board. Seeing all of her plans for the future that would never come to frution, that was the moment I decided to no longer plan for the future, but to live for today. I had to stop being fearful of what could be, and and take control of my life. Through loss, I gained courage and strength to live life to the fullest.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the proud owner of Lit Cocktails, a mobile bartending company that brings both flair and heart to every event. My journey into the world of bartending began after the restaurant I was managing closed due to the pandemic. Passionate about the service industry, especially bartending, I decided to turn my love of hospitality into my own business.

Drawing inspiration from my own wedding day, I wanted to provide the same level of care and attention that made my day memorable. I remember being so nervous prior to walking down the aisle and my dad shouted “get her a shot”! No cups were near, so I took the bottle from my dad and drank straight from it. He was hilariously shocked. This became a cherished memory, inspiring me to create moments like these for others.

At Lit Cocktails, I am not just serving drinks, I am creating experiences. I call myself the “Bartender Bestie” because my goal is to be more that just a bartender- I am a friend who brings joy, warmth, and a personal touch to every event. Whether it’s creating craft cocktails, or sharing laughs with clients before and after events, my mission is simple: to help people make core memories through exceptional service and a genuine connection.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Care and compassion
2. Connection
3. Personability

Success will come when you care about who are are working for. My business took off from word of mouth because I make genuine connections with my clients. I care about saving them money, time, and stress. I make them feel accompanied and supported every step of the way.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My wife, Sadé, has been my number one supporter and my right hand. I couldn’t do it without her. She has been there every step of the way. She’s even gained a love for the craft of mixology and been right by my side mixing up with me at events. She has been extremely encouraging whenever I wanted to give up when things got difficult. Her support has kept me and this business afloat.
