Hi Diamond, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

My mother died 7 years ago, and I was overcome with grief. I became so depressed that I completely disconnected from my family. I was not in communication with them for 4 years. However, this made me more depressed. In an attempt to reconnect with my heritage I clung to memories of my mother and my aunts. Then one day I began speaking with a heavy Guyanese accent. During COVID I often thought of ways to make my Facebook and Instagram friends laugh, and I knew I could do it with my Guyanese accent. So that’s what I did. Little did I know I would reach many more people. Shortly after that at the insistence of many of my friends I joined TikTok, and the rest is still history in the making. Laughter is the antidote to life’s sorrows, and I realize now tapping into my own memories is how my mind recovered from such a devastating loss. It was/is just as therapeutic for me as it is for everyone who enjoys my content.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Professionally I am currently focused on becoming a masterful storyteller in an attempt to raise the collective consciousness. We all have more in common than we realize, and we all have a story to tell. I believe telling these stories through creative expression whether it’s making people laugh onstage, portraying a riveting character on scene, or with an inspiring testimonial helps us feel seen. I like to give people the tools they need, because it is a form of teaching which shifts their perspective and ultimately helps them to find their own purpose.

My goal is to start producing my own shows and philanthropic events. As well as launch a website selling glamorous pieces, because my fan base is 85% women. All women want to look and feel beautiful.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The most important quality for me is self love. The most important relationship I have is the one with myself. It was critical for me to reconcile my childhood traumas and flaws this way outside forces could not manipulate how I feel about myself. It is paramount that people early on in their journey learn to center their spirit and heal the broken parts of themselves, because there will be plenty of voices telling them they aren’t capable. Once you know who you are on your best and worst days nothing and no one can tell you who you aren’t. There is no principality or entity that can stop you from stepping into your full Divine Authority.

The second most important quality for me is I guard my thoughts and protect my energy. Whatever I believe about myself is exactly what I will manifest into my reality. It doesn’t matter who I portray myself to be. What matters most is who I really believe I am subconsciously. People always ask me how did I transform my life so drastically in just two short years, and the answer is I stopped allowing people into my energetic field who do not believe in themselves. People like this have a tendency to project their negativity on to others, and it can impact the goals you have set forth for yourself if you aren’t careful. I believe I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Who is anyone to tell me otherwise.

Lastly, and this is a skillset that has taken me all of my life to master. I had to learn to release my inhibitions and be my true authentic self without outside validation from anyone. That’s when the magic began to happen. The moment I stopped caring about what anyone said about me or my purpose, and I began to show up in the world as myself that’s when I began to align with everything that was destined for me. It can be extraordinarily challenging to unlearn societal norms, but unlearn them we must lest we resign ourselves to a life of mediocrity. If it doesn’t scare you then it isn’t what you were destined to do.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I become overwhelmed I self isolate, and center my spirit. There is no specific time frame. I take all the time I need to process my emotions. It helps me to organize my thoughts and strategize. A very important mantra that I live by is, “Life on two rails”. Which simply means think of our existence in this Earthly realm as a railroad. On one rail everything is going beautifully. Exactly as you envisioned, but the other rail is completely tumultuous. So much so it is threatening to derail the entire train, because it’s quite literally lifting off of the tracks. Thankfully the side that is firmly on the tracks reminds you of your, “why”. It is your peace, it keeps you grounded, and it is the buffer for the other half of your life that you have seemingly lost control of. Which brings us back to why it is so important to nurture the relationship you have with yourself first and foremost, because you are the only one who can get both sides of the train back on the tracks. For me I can not do this with an influx of outside noise, therefore, it is imperative for me to self isolate.
