Meet Diamond Nurse

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diamond Nurse a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Diamond, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?

Absolutely, I’m thrilled to be here and share my journey with you all. Taking risks, it’s a topic near and dear to my heart. You see, as the CEO of DMINE, I’ve learned a thing or two about embracing the unknown.

Fear, it’s a funny thing, isn’t it? We often see it as a barrier, something to avoid at all costs. But what if I told you it’s actually a catalyst for growth? It’s a concept I’ve come to embrace wholeheartedly. Whenever fear rears its head, I see it not as a stop sign, but as a guidepost pointing me towards new opportunities.

There’s a quote that has stuck with me: “In order to have courage, there must be fear present.” It’s a profound truth. Courage isn’t about being fearless; it’s about acknowledging that fear and forging ahead anyway. Each risk I’ve taken, every leap of faith, has been a testament to that courage.

But here’s the thing about risk—it’s not just about taking blind chances. It’s about being curious, about being hungry for knowledge and growth. And let me tell you, curiosity is in my DNA. It’s what drives me to constantly seek out new avenues, to innovate, to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the ever-changing landscape of social media.

So, to all of you out there facing your own fears and uncertainties, know this: you’re not alone. Embrace the fear, let it fuel your journey, and who knows? You just might find yourself standing at the summit, looking out at the incredible view that awaits.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Absolutely, I’d be delighted to share a bit about myself. I am a woman juggling a myriad of roles—wife, mom, influencer, entrepreneur, digital media aficionado, investor, and educator. That’s me, immersed in a whirlwind of purpose-driven pursuits.

At my core, I’m a connector. My husband and I organize Nurse Monthly Mingle events, fostering a vibrant network for professionals in our city. Witnessing friendships blossom, careers soar, and newcomers find their place in the community fills me with pure joy.

In addition, my social media management agency partners with esteemed brands like Google, Fifth Third Bank, and the YMCA, alongside numerous small businesses. Witnessing the transformative power of strategic communication on both brands and lives is endlessly exhilarating.

Yet, my passion truly ignites when it comes to supporting moms and those aspiring to motherhood. Through my influencer work, I champion the belief that motherhood, marriage, career, and entrepreneurship can harmoniously coexist. It’s about empowering women to unleash their potential and rewrite the narrative that suggests they can’t have it all.

My brand isn’t just about one thing; it’s about the beautiful tapestry woven from many threads. It’s about connection, empowerment, and living a life filled with purpose and joy. Because I truly believe, you can have the life you desire.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my multi-faceted journey, three key pillars stand out as having the most significant impact:

1. Unwavering Passion: This fuels everything I do. My passion for connection, for empowering moms, and for building businesses isn’t just words – it’s the fire in my belly that pushes me forward.

Advice: Find what truly ignites your soul, a cause that makes you lose track of time and jump out of bed excited each morning. Let that passion be your guiding star.

2. Relentless Curiosity: The world is an ever-evolving landscape, and staying curious keeps me learning, adapting, and innovating. I’m constantly asking questions, exploring new trends, and seeking diverse perspectives.

Advice: Cultivate a growth mindset. Embrace challenges as learning opportunities, read voraciously, and surround yourself with people who inspire you to think differently.

3. The Power of Connection: Building genuine connections has been the bedrock of my success. From fostering communities to collaborating with partners, I’ve learned that success rarely happens in isolation.

Advice: Be an active connector. Network authentically, build trust, and leverage the power of collaboration. Remember, your network is your net worth.

Bonus Tip: Develop Grit & Resilience: The entrepreneurial journey is rarely smooth sailing. There will be setbacks, doubts, and moments of discouragement. Cultivate grit and resilience. Learn from failures, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. Remember, the most successful people often stumble the most, but they never give up.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Growing up, my parents showered me with something far more valuable than material things: unwavering love and a belief in my potential. My parents worked to give me opportunities they never had. Each morning, my dad would drive me to school, a ritual that continued even when I got my learner’s permit, just because he wanted to spend that time with me. And the memory of my mom buying me my first used car, a red BMW, is etched in my heart. She wasn’t just giving me a vehicle; she was handing me a symbol of freedom and a vote of confidence in my journey. It was my parents constant presence and genuine interest in my life that impacted me most. They showed up, not just physically, but emotionally too. They celebrated my victories, big and small, but more importantly, they were there to catch me when I fell. Their support wasn’t conditional; it was a constant, reassuring force that allowed me to take risks and chase my dreams without fear.
They pushed me to greatness. They believed in me more than I sometimes believed in myself, instilling a drive to achieve and excel. They encouraged me to explore, to learn, and to never settle for anything less than my best. Looking back, I realize their investment wasn’t just in my education or opportunities; it was an investment in who I would become.
So, while I wouldn’t say we were rich in material wealth, I grew up feeling “rich with love.” My parents gave me the tools and the confidence to build my own life, filled with purpose and meaning. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
