We were lucky to catch up with Diamond Washington recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Diamond with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my mother! Seeing her hustle day in and out since a child always pushed me to want to do the same. As a little girl I always knew I wanted to be a boss and have my own everything so having that mindset helped me to have the work ethic that I have now. As well as helping me accomplish all that I have accomplished thus far.

Diamondz Are Forever is a one stop shop for clients to come in and receive a hairstyle in a full salon and come get their taxes filed during the income tax season. My mission is to provide a safe space for clients to come in and receive an unforgettable positive experience! What’s most special about Diamondz Are Forever is this is a dream come true. As a little girl I always visioned me having my own salon and in 2025 I was blessed by God the opportunity to accomplish the goal. Although this process has not been the easiest, it has been the most rewarding. What is also most exciting about Diamondz Are Forever being a one stop shop is that clients can receive a 2 in 1 service without having to go to a different location. The best of both worlds! I am providing the knowledge that my clients need and the atmosphere for them to return again. I am in the market to create long term clients to build a long term relationship with. I am a loctician specializing in soft locs with extenstions, kids & men braid services as well as natural locs such as retwist and style. I am also a 9 year licensed tax professional with an amazing company 1800 Quick Tax where you get the maximum refund when you file your taxes with me. When you file with me you can also come in and get your hair done by me or another stylist at the location. This upcoming tax season will be the best one yet where we offer loans and referral programs to all of our clients!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 most important qualities that have been the most helpful on my journey are communication, patience, and a having a great personality.
Communication is at the top of the list on how to run a successful business. How you communicate with your clients is very important and will get you very far communicating effectively. I have learned there is never too much communication when you are dealing with others whether providing a hairstyle or filing taxes. Something as little as sending your business address in a timely manner to your client is communication and very important.
Patience is also major and something that I had to learn overtime myself. You have to have patience with yourself when you are building because things do not always go as planned. Never give up because things are not happening right away but give yourself more grace because greatness takes time! Stay positive.
Having a great personality is my best feature. I have learned that being kind to your clients will get you very far in life and entrepreneurship. I love to put a smile on my clients face because making their day will forever make my day and that is the main goal.
All 3 of these qualities has made a big impact on my journey.
My advice to anyone that is new to entrepreneurship is to always trust God, never give up on yourself & Always strive for greatness no matter how hard it may look.
