We recently connected with Diana Castaldi and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I was so lucky because I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. My father owned his own business when I was growing up and my sister and I spent long hours with him in his shop after school. We often helped him work on his projects, building custom trailers for customers. After finishing our homework we would help him install floors in the trailers, put the tires on and sweep and clean up. Despite it being hard work with lots of hours, my Dad truly loved what he did. It was there that I learned some important lessons, like working hard until the job is done, resilience when projects required creative solutions and being grateful for the opportunities that come your way, but also not taking them for granted.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a bridal beauty specialist based in Central Texas who’s passionate about helping brides feel radiant and confident for every wedding-related event — not just the wedding day. In addition to my signature soft-glam makeup, I’ve recently introduced professional sunless tanning services. This means my brides can achieve a natural, even glow for their engagement photos, bridal showers, bachelorette trips, rehearsal dinners and, of course, the wedding itself.
What excites me most about this expansion is creating a **one-stop, stress-free beauty experience**. Brides can plan their entire pre-wedding beauty journey with me, and I get to build longer-term relationships instead of just showing up on the wedding morning.
Right now I’m focused on rolling out packages that bundle sunless tanning with makeup applications and group options for bridal showers or bachelorette parties. This approach not only gives my clients a seamless, pampering experience, but also creates new opportunities for them to celebrate with their friends and family while feeling their absolute best.
At the heart of my brand is a commitment to calm, confidence, and fun — transforming the lead-up to a wedding into a series of memorable, beauty-focused experiences instead of just one appointment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Client-Centered Communication
Learning to really listen to brides — their worries, vision, and lifestyle — has been the single most powerful skill in my business. It’s how I tailor both makeup and tanning services to feel authentic to them.
New artists should practice active listening and repeat back what you’ve heard. Even a few discovery questions in your consultation form can make clients feel understood and build instant trust.
Process & Timeline Mastery
I became obsessed with timing and logistics: when tanning should be scheduled before photos, how long makeup takes, how to coordinate a wedding-morning schedule. This keeps things calm and makes me indispensable to planners photographers and brides.
I would tell new artists to shadow professionals who are great at logistics or map out mock schedules for pretend clients. The sooner you build that muscle, the more confident you’ll appear.
Adaptability & Education
The wedding industry shifts fast. Expanding into sunless tanning, group events, and online education has kept my services relevant and opened new revenue streams.
New artists should put aside time each month to learn a new skill or trend — even a short course or webinar — and then actually implement one small change in your business.
By leaning on those three pillars — communication, process mastery, and adaptability — I’ve been able to create a business that feels calm, client-focused, and scalable. New artists who start developing those same habits early on will see their confidence (and bookings) grow much faster.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes — collaboration is a big part of how I like to grow my business. I’m especially interested in connecting with brides who weren’t thrilled with their first set of photos and are planning a “second chance” shoot or would like a second chance shoot as well as new photographers who’d like to collaborate on styled sessions or giveaways.
I’m also looking to partner with local vendors and creatives who want to offer their clients a natural sunless glow before engagement sessions, bridal showers, bachelorette parties or wedding days.
Anyone who’s reading this and would like to collaborate can reach out through Instagram DM or via the contact form on my website. I love brainstorming mutually beneficial partnerships and am open to creative ideas that help both of our audiences feel more celebrated and prepared for their big moments.
