Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diana London. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Diana, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience has many roots.
For me, it began with a quiet, unshakable belief: I was made for more.
I could never quite settle — not because I wasn’t grateful, but because something in me refused to conform. I wasn’t meant to blend in. I was meant to become.
There were times I felt empty, with no love left for myself — yet, love from others still found me.
Giving without expecting anything in return became a lifeline. It wasn’t about what I could get, but what I could give.
Zig Ziglar said it best:
“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
That became my truth. I’ve always wanted to see others thrive — in success, love, friendship, and wealth — just as deeply as I’ve wanted those things for myself.
Resilience, for me, is built on belief, compassion, and a heart that beats for others as much as it does for my own dreams.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My story has been anything but linear, but it’s shaped who I am in the best ways. I’ve always had this inner drive — a knowing that I was meant for more. Not in an ego-driven way, but in a purposeful, soul-level way. I’ve never been one to follow the crowd or settle for “just okay.” Even in my hardest moments, I couldn’t quit. Something in me refused.
I’ve been through seasons where I didn’t have much to give myself, but I still found joy in showing up for others. That’s where I’ve always found strength — in giving, in helping, in believing in people even when they couldn’t believe in themselves.
Professionally, I’m focused on doing meaningful work that aligns with who I am — work that allows me to lead with heart, to build others up, and to create real impact. Success to me isn’t just about personal wins; it’s about seeing others win too. That’s what fills my cup.
My journey has been about staying true to who I am, trusting the process, and never losing sight of the bigger picture: to live with purpose, to love hard, and to leave people better than I found them.
I’m deeply passionate about educating and supporting individuals and business owners on the power of financial literacy — especially when it comes to understanding the importance of the three savings buckets. It’s not just about managing money; it’s about creating freedom, stability, and choice. Today, I have the privilege of empowering people to take control of their finances and rewrite their futures for the better.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities stand out as the most impactful:
**1. Persistence:**
Sticking with my goals through thick and thin has been crucial. Persistence isn’t just about enduring; it’s about consistently taking action, even when progress feels slow. It’s a commitment to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles arise.
**2. Embracing Failure:**
I’ve learned to love failure as an inevitable part of the journey. Every setback has taught me something valuable—each failure has paved the way for new strategies and opportunities. Instead of fearing mistakes, I’ve come to see them as stepping stones on the path to success.
**3. A No-Quit, Rethink Attitude:**
Rather than giving up, I’ve cultivated a mindset that views challenges as invitations to reassess and innovate. When something doesn’t work, I take a step back, rethink my approach, and try again. This relentless determination has been a game changer.
For those early in their journey, here’s my advice:
– **Develop Persistence:** Set clear, achievable goals and break them down into smaller steps. Celebrate the little wins along the way to keep your momentum going. Remember, every small effort adds up over time.
– **Learn from Failure:** Don’t fear mistakes—embrace them. Analyze what went wrong, learn the lesson, and use that insight to refine your approach. Every failure is a valuable opportunity to grow.
– **Adopt a No-Quit, Rethink Mindset:** When you hit a roadblock, take a moment to reassess rather than retreat. Ask yourself what you can change or improve. Innovation and growth often stems from the willingness to pivot and try again.
These qualities aren’t just traits you’re born with—they’re skills you can develop with practice and self-compassion. Keep pushing forward, learn from each misstep, and always be willing to rethink your strategy.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
In the beginning, it was just me — and EMDR. Honestly, EMDR was nothing short of a lifesaver. It gave me the tools to face my past, rewire my thinking, and begin truly healing.
And as the saying goes, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”
For me, that teacher was — and still is — Steve Barton.
Steve didn’t just show up; he showed me the way. He guided me down the path to healing, not by doing the work for me, but by walking beside me as I did it myself. With his support, I gained new ways of looking at life, business, relationships, and even myself. His presence has been a constant reminder that true transformation happens when we’re both challenged and supported.
