Meet Diana North

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diana North. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Diana, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Growing up as an Air Force brat, I spent my childhood constantly starting over. That experience shaped me into someone who adapts quickly and thrives in new environments. As a lifelong nomad, I came to genuinely enjoy meeting new people, discovering fresh ideas, and navigating unfamiliar places and situations with confidence.

When we finally settled in Show Low and it became clear we were putting down roots, I felt it was time to stop adapting to someone else’s vision and start building my own. I launched North Star Business Center to create a professional hub for the local business community—offering full-time private offices, part-time offices, meeting rooms, coworking spaces, business addresses, and flexible membership options. I also provide everyday services like copying, faxing, scanning, printing, notary work, and general local support for anyone who walks through the door.

Being my own boss gives me the freedom to do what I love while serving the community around me. I wear many hats—Girl Friday, event planner, business resource, and community builder—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Under the North Star Business Center brand, I wear many hats to support our local business community. I own and operate a building that offers full-time private offices, part-time offices, meeting rooms, coworking spaces, business addresses, and flexible membership options. I also provide essential everyday services like copying, faxing, scanning, printing, notary services, and general local support to anyone who walks through the door.

Beyond the Business Center, I actively partner with the Show Low Chamber of Commerce, serving as a liaison and supporting several of their events. I also collaborate with the city’s Economic Development Director and the Chamber to help shape a thriving, sustainable local business environment.

Additionally, I manage two seasonal markets during the summer, along with seven three-day shopping events throughout the year. Wearing many hats keeps me busy—and more importantly, allows me to give back to the community I’m proud to be a part of.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Growing up as an Air Force brat taught me the value of diversity, adaptability, and the importance of finding where I can contribute wherever I go. Life has shown me that it’s essential to stay open—to new ideas, to change, and to seeing things from different perspectives.

Progress comes from movement. Don’t stay still—grow, evolve, and keep pace with the world around you. Embrace the future with curiosity, and don’t let the past hold you back.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Delegation has always been a challenge for me. I’m the one people turn to—the one who takes care of everything and wears all the hats. While I take pride in being dependable, I’ve come to realize that I’m only one person. To grow and create more impact, I need to trust others who are willing, capable, and eager to contribute. Letting go isn’t easy, but it’s necessary.

So, delegation it is! I’m committed to putting it into practice throughout the year—here’s to growth, trust, and a little bit of letting go. Wish me luck! 🙂
