Meet Diana Utley

We recently connected with Diana Utley and have shared our conversation below.

Diana, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
My oldest sister was a great influence in my life. She always told me a scared person can not accomplish anything. You have to be willing to take a chance to suceed. A very power life lesson I learned is you only fail when you quit. Those learned lessons have given me the determination to launch 4 U Organic Body Butter. The determination comes from knowing as long as I keep going I can not fail.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My background is culinary arts. My family owned and operated resturants when I was a child. I did not know how to cook. As a child I sweep the floor and wiped tables. I went to college to acquire my knowledge of culinary arts. When I completed college I joined the American Culinary Federation to advance to Certified Chef de Cuisine. I catered for years then was fortunate to open my own resturant. It was the skills I learned durning that time that in culinary that was instrumental in the products developed for 4 U Organic Body Butter. The products are developed from the ingredents my mother developed for dry skin and hair care.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Tenacidy is a skill that is paramount for starting anything new. Just do it and keep on doing it. The more you put your self into your project the better it will become. There are very few overnight sucess stories. There are a lot of stories that started, made mistakes, changed direction, kept going and found sucess at the end of the road.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents gave me life, love and JESUS. My parents loved me thru the highs and lows in life. I always knew they loved me and GOD loved me more. That gave me the courage to step out and try new and different things in life. I saw my parents perservere thru life. Many of the things that were just common to them has been lost in our times. For example simple clean, plant based products for skin hair and nail.
