We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diane Dierking a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Diane, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I grew up being told by my family that I was too stupid to go to College. God gave me the gift of tenacity so I wanted to prove them wrong. Not only did I go to College, but I went on to graduate with a Masters of Science in Management Degree.

I worked in Corporate America doing IT. Honestly, I struggled because it was a lot of sitting in front of a computer with not a lot of interaction with people. Everyone kept telling me that I should be in Sales, but I didn’t think I knew enough about anything to be able to do that. And really… wasn’t sure how to really even find a new job.

Fast forward, I meet my husband & we have premature Twins. I never wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but couldn’t get myself to put them in daycare so I quit my job.
Thank God my husband & I had some savings that we could live off of, but it did require a level of sacrifice. A couple years later, we had our third baby… then our fourth. We had 4 kids in 5 years & all I kept saying to my husband is… I’m bored!

I went to a Jewelry Party & the Jeweler told me that I could have a home-based business where I could work from home, make excellent money for my family and take care of my kids… I was sold. It was very successful and I stayed with the Company for 17 years. Unfortunately Covid came & the Company closed. Devasted!
I didn’t think I could ever find something that I loved to do as much as my Jewelry, much less love it more. BUT GOD… He had a different plan for my life and a better one at that.

I had been struggling with my Health for close to 30 years with IBS Pain, Acid Reflux, Gerd, Leaky Gut Syndrome, just to name a few things. I saw my Health Coach post a Transformation Picture on Facebook & I immediately reached out to her.

Not only did I lose 15 pounds, but I healed from my health concerns from above, I also realized I was Lactose & Gluten Intolerant and that I can’t have onions, green peppers, anything oily or spicy. I also reduced inflammation starting in my face, all the way to my toes. No more back fat, love handles or belly bulge. Lastly, I retained lean muscle mass, reset my metabolism, have more energy AND my gained my confidence back!!!
People always hear… you are what you eat. In addition, you FEEL what you eat. I’m so incredibly thankful to my newfound health.

Having said all of that… I have tried EVERYTHING to get healthy. Every diet, pill, patch, detox, working out 6 days per week… everything… and nothing worked until this Health Program.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
We have to have the capacity to Self Reflect AND CHANGE. What are best practices and are you following them!?! Give it enough time. Do you have working hours that you stick to every day or do you take the day off when you don’t feel like working. Do you have a Mentor who has been there and achieved the goals you’re striving for? Are you focused on helping people and providing value to your Clients/Customers or are you self-focused!?! Have you read leadership books? Do you pray for what you want and then get to work so you give God something to bless? Are you waiting to be externally motivated or are you self motivated!?! Put your pride down and ask for help. Do you allow people to speak into your blind spots or do you get defensive!?! Do you have a growth mindset? There are so many ways we can grow by working in our strengths & getting better in our weaknesses. The SKY Is The Limit when you’re an Entrepreneur. Are you will to do whatever it takes? One more thing… consistency over intensity plus time = success. YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL!!!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
Although I grew up in a very dysfunctional home where there was drug and alcohol addiction including verbal and emotional abuse… I still managed to push forward & become the woman I dreamed of being. A good mom, wife and business woman and I’m proud of myself for that. We all have choices to make and I chose to change my Family Legacy. I wanted to give me and my children a better life without addiction & abuse and more fun as a family. What I did learn from my parents is a strong work ethic. No matter how they felt or what was happening, they got up and went to work… every single day.
