Meet Diane Howard

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diane Howard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Diane, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
When it comes to injecting it is extremely important to build your skill, learn different techniques and have a mastery of facial anatomy. In order to build confidence for injecting, I think it is extremely important to start slow and work with experts to help build your skill set and confidence. I believe it takes 2-3 years to build a good injecting skill base, so working and mentoring under other experts during that time will help get you to the next level.

Additionally, I think having a positive mindset is important to build one’s self-esteem. Like any skill, positive self-talk takes time to perfect. That is why I make sure to practice positive self-talk and mantras every day. I believe that saying these affirmations daily helps me be more mindful, and builds confidence within myself.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am an Aesthetic Nurse Injector, and Founder at Esthetic Finesse. Everyone deserves to feel confident and beautiful, which is why I offer a wide range of injections, ranging from muscle relaxers (Botox/Dysport) to Dermal Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) and more to help you achieve your dream look.

I only use the latest technology and techniques, and stay up to date through continuing education so my clients always get the best results. My approach to aesthetic nursing is centered around creating a comfortable, trusting, and relaxed atmosphere.

Every patient has individual needs and concerns, so I make sure to address each of these in a safe environment to help you achieve your desired look. I’m a firm believer in less is more, and enhancing the natural beauty of each client’s appearance.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Knowledge and Understanding of Facial Anatomy: In order to be a great injector, you need a deep knowledge of facial anatomy. This will ensure you provide the best results and can educate the patient for realistic expectations.

Communication: I think in order to provide exceptional service you need to be able to communicate with clients. You have to be able to decipher what their wants and needs are, and set realistic expectations for what they can achieve.

Positivity: It’s extremely important to set a positive tone for everything you do. From self-talk to business, I think it is extremely important to be and think in a positive way. Especially for someone working in the beauty industry, it is important to not come across as critical. I think operating and thinking in a warm and positive way makes clients feel comfortable and safe.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
The ideal client for Esthetic Finesse is anyone who wants to enhance their natural beauty and who values self-care. Self-care is so important, and by spending time on ourselves to look and feel our best, we show up for ourselves in every aspect of our life. How we look and feel about our appearance can impact every aspect of our lives.

That is why I make sure to create a comfortable, friendly, and one-on-one atmosphere. This helps me to understand the needs and desired look of every client, and ensure it enhances their natural beauty.
