Meet Dimitris Nezis

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dimitris Nezis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Dimitris , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Growing up in a family environment, where the mentality that prevailed was mainly traditional, I have to confess that many times my wishes were met with a negative response. However, the issue is that this, in combination with my character, helped me turn the “limitation” into strength. It takes a lot of courage to grow up in an environment that is relatively strict and not lose control while growing up. Fortunately behind the rigor, the majority of the moral values I received were positive and my ”core” was strong enough to be mentally stable, Then you need to seek strength in you, in order to transform the rest into knowledge. My involvement with singing and the artistic world was my refuge. No matter how toxic some people from the music industry may be, if you have unwavering morals and strong soul, you can endure. In conclusion, my personality, combined with the good aspects of my family environment, made me the man and artist that I am today.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have been an active singer and songwriter for 14 years (with 3 albums & 24 singles released) , while at the same time I have been an actor and radio producer, In recent years, i feel blessed to have been awarded internationally more than 40 times & I am an official member of the “NATIONAL RECORDING ACADEMY” and the “COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION”. In addition, I am an official judge of the ISSA AWARDS and the GLOBAL FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL USA. IN 2021 I founded ”Pulse Music Greece”, through which I want to selflessly support independent artists from all over the world, knowing how difficult it is sometimes to be supported by the big record companies. Through all of this I feel the happiness that fills up my heart with joy, doing things that I dreamed of as a child! it is a great thing to do what you love in your life, and if you do it as a profession then it is an absolute blessing. I am happy to announce that my new album ,called “DIMITRIOS” ,inspired by my birth name, will be released in late spring 2024. First single “Deceive me”feat. Natalie Jean ,is out already on all digital platforms, meeting great reviews already.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In my opinion, 3 important pieces to be a “winner” in life and whatever you do are: great patience & kindness, persistent and absolute dedication to your dreams, appetite and susceptibility to evolution. Luckily for me, I have all above, and this helps me to move forward, endure and enjoy my successes, smaller or bigger ones. This is exactly what I would also advise all the folks who are reading us right now.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Trying to get my music heard internationally is not an easy thing, coming from a small European country like GREECE. Despite this, my love for singing & expanding my discography with beautiful songs, makes me want to push my limits and luckily I’m doing well, so far. I would like to work with experts from the music industry, who believe in me and my vision. Managers, booking, PR, tour agencies, etc., I would be grateful to get in touch with them, and to find ways to collaborate, mostly from summer onwards, that I will be in USA for quite some time, in order to promote my new album “Dimitrios”.
