Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dipen Parekh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dipen, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?
My decision-making skills have been developed through a combination of data-driven analysis and trusting my instincts. As the owner of a tutoring center, I’ve learned that making sound decisions is about more than just looking at numbers; it also requires a deep understanding of the needs of the students.
I also make decision which includes feedback from my team, parents, and students. I also believe that focusing on long-term vision over short-term gains is crucial. This has allowed me to make choices that strengthen the foundation of our business, like investing in our cognitive development programs and helping students progress to next level.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As the owner of Grade Power Learning in Frisco, I’m dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential. We’re not just a tutoring center; we’re a place where students build the skills and confidence to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
What excites me most is our focus on cognitive development. We don’t just help with homework; we teach students how to learn. Our unique programs are designed to improve things like memory, processing speed, and attention—the foundational skills that make learning easier across all subjects. Watching a student who once struggled with reading or math suddenly light up with understanding and confidence is incredibly special. It’s a reminder that we’re not just improving grades, we’re changing lives.
Beyond our core programs, we’re always looking for new ways to support our community. We’re also proud to offer personalized sessions for students who need more focused support. We believe that every student has the potential to excel, and our goal is to provide the right environment and tools to help them achieve it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1 -Passion for education and helping others: My journey was inspired by a deep passion for education and a desire to help students succeed. This is the foundation of the business and the driving force behind the personalized learning approach at Grade Power Learning.
2 – Focus on cognitive development: I saw a need for a tutoring service that went beyond simple homework help. By focusing on improving foundational thinking and learning skills, such as memory and processing speed, the business helps students build confidence and long-term academic success.
3 – Building a strong team: As a center director, I lead a qualified tutoring team. My role involves developing tailored learning strategies and fostering a supportive environment, indicating the importance of leadership and collaboration.
For those early in their journey, my advice would be to:
– Follow your passion
– Identify a unique niche
– Build a strong support system

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My primary challenge is the intense competition of tutoring services in a saturated market. With many providers offering basic homework help, it’s a constant struggle to distinguish Grade Power Learning and articulate our unique value. Many parents view tutoring as a short-term fix, not a long-term investment, which makes our differentiated approach a harder sell.
To overcome this, I am actively working on two fronts. First, I’m strengthening our message around our core differentiator: cognitive development. We aren’t just helping with a single subject; we are teaching students how to learn. This is a crucial distinction that leads to lasting academic success.
Second, I am prioritizing partnering with school teachers. It is essential to bridge the gap between learning at school and at the center. We can proudly say – we are the only center who partners with each child’s school teacher. This allows us to move beyond being just another tutoring center.
