Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Divine Lotus ✨. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Divine, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I’ve always believed that light shines brightest when it’s embraced fully — when we stop dimming ourselves to fit in or to avoid judgment the power and joy you feel shines like the brightest star. But that wasn’t always how it was for me. Here’s my truth, growing up, I was bullied, I was teased and I really got picked on to the point of me hiding from myself .Words were thrown at me like stones, aiming to clip away at my self-worth. And for a long time, it did. I started to question my beauty, my strength, even my voice. I lost myself in the noise of people trying to make me hate who I was. There were so many clouds of doubt, and tears of shame but, I realized that the only way to let my light shine was to embrace it fully — “flaws”, scars, and all. One day, I woke up and decided to silence that noise. I decided to start loving me—not for anyone else, but for me.
At first, it was small. I began with the smallest affirmations, starting with my hair, my skin, my frame. I touched my battle scars, not as reminders of pain, but as marks of resilience. I looked at my hair in the mirror and said, “This is mine. It’s beautiful.” I held my body, my frame, and instead of wishing it was different, I said, “This is home. I belong here.” I even embraced my mind emotionally finding the strength to let all of the negativity go. I realized that if someone tried to point out all that I worked on for myself, I’d simply smile and say, “Yes, they’re mine. And?” Yes my hair is like that. And? My body shape made to perfection… and? Because every mark told a story of a moment I can now laugh at. Plus if I don’t choose me, who will?
If I don’t love me, who will?
It was in that moment I understood the power of my light. I wasn’t here to blend in or shrink to make others comfortable. I was here to impact, inspire, and uplift. to use my light to guide others out of their own darkness.
It was that moment where I accepted myself as I am — unapologetic, radiant, and whole — my light grew stronger. It became a beacon, guiding me to impact others positively. Ive learned that to inspire, I must first love myself fiercely, without waiting for the world’s permission.
Because if I don’t choose me, who will?!
So, I choose every day to love myself more, shine unapologetically, and remind others that their light, too, is worth protecting and projecting . Confidence is not perfection it’s a journey of choosing yourself over and over again, in every moment, no matter who tries to dim you down.
And now, I walk with purpose. I perform with fire. I speak with intention. My confidence comes from knowing that I chose myself, that I’m secure in myself and that each and every single time I’ll do it again with grace and a smile. There’s so much power in knowing whom you are and loving yourself.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a full-time student, fully in pursuit of obtaining my acting degree, and let me tell you, I’m all in on making my dream of becoming an actress a reality. But not just any actress. I want to be someone who leaves people breathless, inspired, and thinking long after they’ve left the theater or turned off the screen. You know that feeling you get when you watch a superhero in a movie, and they make you believe you can be unstoppable? That’s exactly the kind of energy I want to bring into people’s lives. I don’t just want to play a character — I want to be someone’s source of strength and hope through the stories I tell.
In addition to acting, music is another huge part of who I am. I write songs to connect, to heal, and to make people feel seen. My music is about filling people with confidence and comfort with a whole lot of vibes! I really feel like I’m right there, ready to make an even bigger mark. I want for when people hears my singing that it to reminds them that they matter and they are heard, not to mention I am a lover girl at heart…. So you’ll be hearing me fantasize about love. Funny enough, I wasn’t always this fearless. There was a time I was terrified to use my voice. I held back. I stayed quiet And sang when I was alone, when the space was empty. But once I let go of that fear? Everything changed. Now, I want to share my voice with the world, whether it’s on stage, on screen, or through someone’s headphones. I want people to feel like they’ve gained something after hearing me — strength, comfort, joy, whatever they need at that moment.
What excites me the most is the power of storytelling. I believe that music and movies can change the way people see the world and themselves. There are so many stories out there waiting to be told — especially from people who haven’t had the chance to be heard. That’s where I come in. I want to be their voice. I want to help people feel connected, understood, and inspired through the stories I tell. And the best part? I’ve learned that in sharing their stories, I get to discover so much about myself, too.
Professionally, my goal is to become a woman of exceptional leadership. I want to inspire others to be bold and fearless in their own pursuits, while still having fun and staying passionate about the process. To me, music and movies are magic. They unite us, they lift us, they make us think, and they make us feel. And that’s what I’m here to do — make people feel. That’s my passion, and that’s my purpose.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey so far, I’d say one of the most impactful things I’ve learned is to walk by faith and not by sight. You have to trust that your path is yours — and no one else’s. It’s so easy to look around and compare yourself to where others are in their journey, but you have to remind yourself that what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. You might not see the results right away, but if you keep believing, keep doing the work, and stay focused, everything will fall into place when the time is right. Faith is what keeps you moving when things feel unclear, and it’s what keeps your dreams alive even when you can’t see the finish line yet. I have such strong faith knowing that my career and path is in God’s hands. To the point that nobody can sway me to think otherwise about my purpose and Destiny.
Another important thing I’ve learned is that not everybody’s opinion is the best opinion. People will have a lot to say about your dreams, your choices, and even your talent. But at the end of the day, you have to know your own truth. Take advice from people who genuinely care about your growth, but don’t let every opinion weigh you down. Stay grounded in who you are and what you’re working toward. You’re the one who knows your vision best.
Lastly, stand up for yourself, speak up for yourself, and set boundaries. It’s so important to know your worth and protect your peace. Don’t be afraid to say no when something doesn’t feel right or to ask for what you need. And if you hear a few no’s along the way? Don’t feel discouraged. It only takes one right yes to change your entire life. Keep going, keep believing, and trust that your moment is coming.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Well The most impactful thing my family has done for me is surround me with love — and that love has shaped who I am today. I know nothing less than love because I’ve always been surrounded by it. My mom, my brothers, my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents — they all love me deeply, and they pray for me. They’ve shown me what it means to have joy and laughter in life, and they tend to me when I’m feeling sad or low. From them, I’ve learned to be grateful for even the smallest blessings, because love is always present in my life.
My mom, especially, has shown me how to advocate for myself by the way she advocates for me. Anytime I say I need or that there’s something I really want especially where my career is involved or something, I’ll come home and find what I needed waiting on my bed — even if I never directly asked for it. She hears me even in my silence, and she somehow always knows what I need. Those moments have been life-changing because they’ve taught me that my needs matter and my voice matters. She’s shown me how to care for myself, to trust myself, and to stand up for what I deserve.
My grandmother has also had a huge impact on me. She shows me what it means to forgive — to let things go and move forward with grace. And she never leaves me without a joke or a story to lift my spirits. My grandfather instills in me the importance of always remembering who I am. He reminds me to stay rooted in my values and to never forget where I come from, no matter where life takes me.
