We were lucky to catch up with Dj Lancia recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

As a DJ and content creator, my purpose is to inspire others by turning creative ideas into reality. Driven by a strong mindset and a commitment to never give up, I strive to give back to my community through my music and content, helping others find their own inspiration and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m currently focused on producing more House music and creating events that bring the community together. I host ‘Sets At The Beach’ in Long Beach, a platform my cousin , DJ Sketch, and I created a year ago. This event is for new and seasoned DJs to connect, practice, and engage with the local community. It’s been an amazing way to introduce new DJs to promoters and build relationships with influencers. Beyond live events, I spin hip-hop and afrobeats on 94.5 The Blaze every Wednesday at 5pm, available on the TuneIn App or through my website, DJLancia.com, where you can find my latest releases, event details, and radio mixes. With over 15 years of experience, from performing at Pride festivals and nightclubs to now being on radio, I’m grateful for every opportunity. My future goals include playing at more festivals in Los Angeles and across the country, with dreams of going international.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities that I believe have had the most impact on your journey are patience, persistence, and consistency. My advice to those starting out is to stay true to your beliefs and carve out your own path. When you encounter a roadblock, take the time to find ways to overcome it.
