We recently connected with DJ MARV GO HARD and have shared our conversation below.
DJ MARV , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My mom always taught me to be confident. But to keep my confidence boosted, I keep positive people around me and they always remind me how special I am, especially when I seem to forget. Putting out great work and keeping my word has always given people reason to compliment me.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I make music myself and I also do film/photography but I also manage artists, models and more! I love doing this because I love to see others win. If one of us wins we all win. My company, Most Official Entertainment, is here to not only entertain but here to help others make a living doing whatever it is they love to do. I do my best to elevate everyone I work with by building their portfolio, giving them knowledge on the things I know that can help them get further and putting them in rooms with individuals that are already where they want to be.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say the most important skill builder when it comes to song writing, photography/videography and even being a manager is experience. Yes you can learn from others through reading books and watching videos about your craft but experience is the best teacher. You can have all the knowledge in the world but without actual experience, that knowledge means almost nothing.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I love this question because feeling overwhelmed happens to me from time to time. Sometimes I will have a large work load and at the same time I will be dealing with my personal life issues. Also since I manage a lot of people, I still have to balance making everyone happy. So what I do when I feel overwhelmed is, I stop for a second and take a step back to organize my thoughts. I may even set my work aside for an hour or two and watch something that has nothing to do with what I’m working on. Then when I come back to my work I have a more clear mind and get things done how I want to. Also I highly suggest to anyone with a busy schedule, use the calendar in your phone so you can stay organized. This helps a lot… And be very specific with what you enter into your calendar as far as names and times. I also have a small circle of friends I reach out to and talk with to get advice, talk about life issues or to just clear my mind. Having good friends in your corner can go a long way as far as getting yourself back into the groove of things.
