Meet Don Nechtman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Don Nechtman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Don, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic is rooted in a deep commitment to self-improvement. I’ve always believed in pushing myself beyond the limits, staying focused on growth rather than getting caught up in competition. This mindset has driven me to consistently strive for better results, shaping the way I approach both my brand and my career. The nickname “BTG,” which stands for Beyond The Grind, reflects my dedication to going further in everything I do, constantly pushing forward to achieve my goals.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m Don Nechtman, founder of Off-Stitch (formerly Super Soles), a clothing brand I first conceptualized at the age of 12 and rebranded in 2024. Off-Stitch is driven by a commitment to offering affordable premium goods while planning to create local manufacturing opportunities within the U.S. Our vision extends beyond high-quality apparel; we are dedicated to promoting sustainability through eco-friendly practices and safeguarding God’s green earth.

As part of our growth strategy, Off-Stitch will soon be available on Amazon, enhancing accessibility to our products. Additionally, we are developing a mobile app to elevate the customer experience and seamlessly connect our latest collections with our audience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities have been most impactful: eagerness to learn and self-teaching, resourcefulness, and attracting blessings through belief in God. My commitment to continuous learning and self-education has been crucial, so I advise newcomers to stay curious and proactively seek knowledge. Resourcefulness has helped me navigate challenges and seize opportunities, and I encourage others to think creatively and adapt. Additionally, my faith has provided guidance and strength, so cultivating a strong sense of purpose and believing in the process can be incredibly empowering for anyone starting out.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that has played a significant role in my development is “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” by Richard Carlson, Ph.D. This book offers key insights on maintaining perspective and managing stress. A few of the most impactful lessons from it include the importance of not letting minor irritations disrupt your peace of mind, focusing on what truly matters, and embracing a more relaxed approach to daily challenges. These principles have helped me stay grounded and maintain a positive outlook, even amidst the pressures of building a brand and pursuing my goals.
