Meet Donna Menne

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Donna Menne. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Donna below.

Hi Donna, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

I get my resilience from life itself. From being a Black woman in America born in the early 60s. From growing up in a world that often told me I was too much and not enough at the same time. I lost my father when I was a little girl and my mother when I was just stepping into adulthood. I had to learn early how to carry grief and keep going.

My resilience comes from all the times I got knocked down and stood back up. From working in physical therapy where I helped others heal while carrying my own invisible wounds. From becoming a businesswoman and creating something sacred with my hands, my heart, and my intention.

But more than anything, I get my resilience from spirit. I believe in energy. I believe in transmuting pain into power. I have leaned into astrology, into ritual, into deep self-awareness. That’s what keeps me going. Not just surviving, but showing up with love, with purpose, and with the desire to help others remember their own strength.

When I walk into a room where I’m the only one who looks like me, I remind myself that my presence is not an accident, it’s an assignment. I don’t shrink. I stand taller. I channel the strength of my ancestors, the ones who couldn’t sit at certain tables but built the legs those tables stand on. I walk in with grace, but I also walk in with fire. I listen, I observe, and I trust that what I carry—my lived experience, my wisdom, my perspective—is valuable. I used to wonder if I belonged. Now I know that rooms shift when I enter them, and that shift is necessary. My strength comes from years of having to navigate spaces that weren’t built with me in mind, and still finding a way to thrive in them, without losing who I am.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the founder of Starseed Studio and Donna Menne Designs, where I create ritual oils, spiritual tools, and offerings rooted in healing, intention, and beauty. After years as a physical therapist and yoga instructor, I stepped into the work my soul was always called to do helping people remember who they are through energy, ritual, and deep spiritual alignment. I’m an astrologer, a life coach, a jewelry designer, and a spiritual teacher, blending ancestral wisdom, personal experience, and intuitive guidance. Everything I make, whether it’s a bottle of conjure oil, a birth chart reading, or a piece of handmade jewelry carries frequency and purpose. Right now, I’m especially excited about my New Year Manifestation Trio and my upcoming expansion into ritual books and digital offerings. This is more than a business to me, it’s a sacred calling, and I’m here to help others rise.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three most important qualities that shaped my path are discipline, intuition, and the ability to keep learning. Discipline gave me structure when life felt chaotic, and it taught me to show up for myself even when no one else could. Intuition helped me trust my path when logic said to give up. It guided me toward the kind of work I was born to do, even when I had to create that path from scratch. And staying open to learning kept me evolving. I’ve been a physical therapist, a healer, a coach, and a creative—and I’ve had to keep learning through every season. For those just starting out, I’d say this—make discipline a spiritual practice, listen to your inner knowing even when it whispers, and stay curious enough to grow past your own expectations

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, I am always open to connecting with people who feel called to do this kind of work. If you are on a healing journey, if you are navigating a transition, if you’re trying to make sense of your energy or your purpose, I want you to know you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you are brand new to spiritual work or deep in your practice, I create tools and hold space to support real transformation. I work one-on-one, and I also welcome invitations to speak, teach, or guide groups when it feels aligned. But at the heart of it all, I am here to help people come home to themselves. If that speaks to you, reach out. I’d be honored to walk beside you.
